I don't think it's such a terrible move from a business standpoint. Why release a couple new campaign maps(like we were all led to believe they would) and special infected as DLC and charge $10-15 for it when you can throw all that stuff in with 4 new characters and a few new gameplay features and charge $60 for it?
It will be 40-50$ like the original game
I don't see why this brings up complaints when A new Call of Duty game is released every year and 5 new Guitar Hero Games come out every year.
Actually, theres 2-3 years between each COD release. I wouldnt count Treyarchs abominations in. Player counts speak for themselves.
The problem with L4D is that the game has a lot more longetivity and a sequel is not needed. What they should do is release content, either in patch or DLC form, and L4D2 is not a proper sequel material.
The power of L4D should be user generated content: mods, maps, new scenarios. They should be actively supporting that arch, while pumping out DLCs for consoleplayers.
Right now, it just seems like they are milking it, and it puts a stain on Valves image. Hard to believe that they have money issues.

.
Releasing Free DLC is not Good Business.
Mods are not available to console players.
I play L4D constantly with 3 friends. The only time L4D left my 360 was when RE5 came out, but now L4D is back in. I fully welcome a completely new experience. L4D2 has MORE content than L4D. To release all that as DLC would be RETARDED.

Who said anything about DLC being *free*?

4 reskinned characters (3 guys one girl), 5 campaigns and a couple of new monsters (of which at least one is already a "readjusted" tank), along with additional weapons (melee) is HARDLY MORE content. Its exactly the kind of content we used to receive as 1/2 priced EXP packs or are now receiving as 10-15 dollar DLC´s.

I'm excited but I wonder how good the game will be coming out so soon. I mean, L4D is still fairly a new release... so L4D2 so quick ahhhhh but I'm still excited wooowooo :3
Its a good thing the decided to put chainsaws it this game because I use ammo VERY quickly in the first left 4 dead. (*sigh*) The shotgun just doesn't seem to last that long....
Hitler goes amok as he finds Left 4 Dead 2 is being released instead of the promised new content.GG Valve.Take action!Join the movement at: http://steamcommu...
