NPD Sales May 2009 : Bionic Commando flops, UFC sells gangbusters.

Just thought we should discuss this here as well ..

so apparently neither SKU of bionic commando sold at all, and according to IGN didn't even manage to break 30k , where as UFC had surprisingly awesome sales.

Considering inFAMOUS came out in the last week of May, I'd say it sold pretty well.

And as far as Bionic Commando goes...I can't say I'm surprised.

where as UFC had surprisingly awesome sales.

When you consider how popular the UFC brand is worldwide, as well as the fact that this was the first game to come out in the series for five years, I'd hardly call it surprising.

Not to mention the target audience for the game are the types who would buy a game for good graphics and nothing else. Thus, a HD iteration in the series would be a no-brainer for THQ to finance and release. Lucky they did, it seems, those are awesome sales.

Shame it's a crap game. =P

"Capcom and Grin's Bionic Commando franchise sold just 27,000 units in its opening month in the U.S., despite the title's roots in Capcom's classic swing-and-shoot platforming game from the 1980s, research firm NPD Group told Gamasutra on Monday.

Bionic Commando sold that amount at U.S. retail from its May 19 release to the end of NPD's retail calendar on May 30, across both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game. NPD Group said it could not disclose the exact split between Xbox 360 and PS3 sales."

Bionic Commando wasnt that great but it had its moments and such i give Bionic Commando a 7.5/10 its worth a rent dont buy it.
