Also, I don't quite follow you when you say cross-region installs. Do you mean that the program will work on any PS2, but you can only play games from the PS2's native region?
FMCB fires up as soon as you boot your ps2 it runs off the memory card straight away, it can used to launch programs of a memory card, mass / usb, or a ide hdd the programs can be launched holding down a specific button during bootup or assigning them to a custom osd title that appears next to Browser and System Configuration which can then be ran by pressing X or O the same way you'd access Browser and System Configuration.

Cross-regions ie: installing it on a memory card using a PAL ps2 then copying the memory card to another memory card and giving that card to a NTSC user.

Useful programs for the ps2 consist of:
uLE - A file manager which can also run programs.
FMCB_Configurator - used to maintain your fmcb configuration.
ESR - Used to play DVD backups.
USBExtreme, USBAdvance, USBLoader - used to play backups off a usb device.
HDLoader - Used to play backups from a IDE HDD.
You can play backups from any region with these.

Surely you guys (especially the usual culprit) must realise a lot of the stuff you're discussing here isn't going to fly with the mods?

I'm busy trying to decide. Normally betas are OK, but since the only difference between this beta and retail is more blood and less bones left in the victim I'm not sure yet.

I just provided the information it's up to him what he does with it, legal or not.
You can't blame me if he chooses to commit acts of piracy with it, it's his conscious after all not mine.

Cool, you can play USB backups? That's damn handy Can you save games to USB too? An 8MB PS2 card here is $15 used.

Lastly, can I get a PAL version of this memory card hack?

Yes although they run considerably slower than a DVD backup or IDE HDD backup because the PS2 only has USB v1.1 this creates major lag on games that contain lots of high quality fmv's the preferred method is via a IDE HDD as it actually reduces loading times and is quicker than running the game from the original DVD, IDE HDD's can only be used on v1-13 PS2's though.

Yes with a bit of work but it requires a further patch to the ISO to re-direct the saving location from the memory to the USB device. It's much less hassle to just copy a save to from and from the USB device to a memory card when you need it.

Yes it's for available for any region PS2.

No hard feelings, guys, but we're shutting this party down "for now", until we've finalized our guidelines and rules for these kinds of things that're kinda in a bit of an icky zone as far as legality goes.
