  • BCR on "Super Hard"

Has anyone here completed Bionic Commando Rearmed on the "Super Hard" setting?

Good God, is that difficult! I am crushed by the thought that I'll never be able to achieve the trophies for beating the game on Super Hard and achieving at least 1 star in every challenge room. I don't think I have the patience (or skill) to complete those challenges...

Anyone out there a BCR pro?! Advice por favor!

It's annoying, that's for sure, although it does get a hell of a lot easier when you unlock the grenades.

Carnivol is your man for this one though. As far as I know, he's almost completed it on Super Hard, or at least he's a brave distance in.

Yeah. I've still got Area 11 to go on Super Hard before I can finish it up.

But the world gets a whole lot easier once you get the grenades, that's for sure.

Tell me where you're stuck and I'll tell you how to proceed. It all becomes a matter of observing your surroundings and proceeding one step at a time (and in the end, you run through a stage without any problems at all)

I've yet to finish Final Exam in the Challenge Rooms too, it sure is tricky, but not impossible. Just needs a bit of persistence (many of my friends did it long before I even unlocked it, or did it on day one, 'cause they just didn't want to put the challenge rooms away)

Thanks fellas...I forgot about this thread for a few days, actually. Well, the first thing I did was unlock the rocket launcher (to make it easier to deal with the "enemy encounter" levels, and I also got the grenades. Right now I am just having trouble beating the 1st Platoon, since so many bullets are flying around the room. I know it all just takes some patience, and a little luck.

I'll come back here or PM you once I am in a real jam. I am just thinking the final boss battle will be an utter nightmare. I suck at aiming those guided missiles, and I think there is almost zero room for error on the fuhrer in Super Hard.

As for the challenge rooms - I hate those things more than anything. I know there are some video guides on youtube, but I still can't accomplish almost half of them.

These are the last 2 trophies I need for this game as well.

The 1st Platoon is pretty easy (same strategy works on the 2nd too). It's just that it requires a bit of a lame technique to do it easily. Hardest part is pretty much getting to the boss. But if you've got the claw upgrade so you can throw people, along with the rocket launcher, just memorize the "non-door" enemies and throw or rocket them based on their type (first two running guys: two rockets each, bomb thrower: throw, remote control soldier: rocket or throw, following running guys: throw or two rockets)

Same applies to the second hall like this too, but you could use Super Joe's Machine Gun if you've unlocked it.

As for the boss itself, just climb up on the top platform at the start (before triggering the boss speech), then swing over to the boss and walk straight up to block that's in front of him, attach your wire to the ceiling and swing back 'n forth a few times and just kick him in the face 'till you he dies (you might get hit once by the enemies below, but just quickly re-attach and swing again if you do)

As for the final boss... the Health Pills only give you one extra hit on Super Hard, I think (so you take 3 bullets instead of 2, etc...), but by the time you're at Hitler's, you should also have access to the 3 body armor parts. With a little care, you should be able to get to him without having lost any of them, and hopefully be able to take him down on the first go. In general, most of the bosses aren't too bad.

I found the best strategy to be to just put away the game for a few days, then come back to it, fresh and out-of-practice, to then do stuff on the first try (after a good few failures during the previous session )

Anyway, rocket launcher and grenades = your best friends. (later also the rest of your arsenal, as you might be using the shotgun to better control your swings, and the vector cannon to deal with awkwardly placed enemies and/or turrets.)

Random note: It was not until I'd cleared almost everything up to Area 10/11 that I went back and did 1st and 2nd Platoon (I wanted the Area 04 weapon to make my life easier)
