  • God of War I & II on single Blu-Ray Disc

    http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/...oliday-season/

With trophy support, 720P capability, and 60 FPS.

I have never played any of these games, so this is a sweet deal for myself and others who have yet to sample these critically-acclaimed titles. Especially essential if you are interested in jumping into GOW III when it is released next year (March 2010).

C'mon Sony, now give us Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on a BR disc...

Resident Evil fans should be lobbying Capcom to pull this sort of thing off for Outbreak, more chances of this happening than a digital release for it.

More than likely going to buy this. I love the God of War series and to be able to play all three on the PS3 without dragging my PS2 up my stairs will be a very good thing for me. The HD compatibility and having them both on one disk is a lovely bonus as well. Good idea.

SWEET. I loved GOW 1, but never got around to playing the second one too much.

I can't wait until doctorxyz completes his resolution tool for the PS2 that will force games into 480p or 1080i just like GT4.

                Definitely looking this up.
Had GOW1 but imported GOW2 from the US only to find it wouldn't work on my US PS2 or my modded PAL PS2 so had to rent it instead so technically only played through GOW2 once, so playing an enhanced version would definitely be welcome.

I just saw this on the PSblog a few minutes ago and started freaking out. I haven't played the first two games in the longest time, and to re-play them in 720p on ONE disc, a few months before God of War III releases...is going to be just plain epic.

Its actually really good business, considering the lack of PS2 BC on newer PS3 consoles, im hoping that its a strategy Sony will keep up for most their games, or at least encourage first and third party developers to consider releasing compilations of their older games on Blu Ray.

I mean, in all seriousness I would fork out full price to have say, Square Enix's FFX, X-2, and XII on the same disc provided it was all upscaled with the same quality as the GOW port.

Konami releasing MGS and Silent Hill sets again, Capcom doing Resident Evil's, Onimushas, and Devil May Cry.... I could see this being very profitable for a lot of companies.

Q&A with John Hight, the director of product development at Sony Santa Monica Studio.

Doesn't the creator of GOW hate you or something? lmao

I don't know if David Jaffe hates me, but he definitely got me a lifetime ban from NeoGAF:
