  • NeoMidgar : Final Fantasy Site Thread

Note : This will be the only thread for this.

As I said a few months ago, I have reaquired the domain name of a former Final Fantasy site that I had worked on in the past. Unfortunately, school and other stuff has kept me from working on the site until recently. But here is the current state of the site (currently offline as it is being worked on)

    Work in progress, obviously.

My question to those fans out there is this : What would you like to see, beyond the typical guides, information, screenshots, video, and what have you?

Ill also use this to throw out that writers will be needed to help beef up existing content. So if any of you out there have written guides and such (to just about any game in the series, other then FF7, sorry), or would be interested (and have the time!) to do so, please PM me!

Maybe have users e-mail or post in some intense or epic battles?

Lord knows I want to tell how my friend and I beat Shinryuu in FFV with everyone dying but Butz, and he only had 3HP left. XD

      I do like Canas' idea.

I'd like to see more information about ideals on the character concepts and the like, I'm happy to write for you on VIII, X, X-2, XII, XII: Revenant Wings, IV DS, III DS, FF PSP, FFII PSP, FF:VII-Crisis Core, FF: Dissidia and a few others (I am also happy to provide written walkthroughs, as well as video walkthroughs).

Some links to OverClocked Remix would be great - a LOT of amazing remixes that could bring the site some more coverage, and that's something I haven't really seen on any FF sites.

Of course I also think I have Last Order floating around on my laptop - which I could hopefully get around to doing an English conversion dub once my other projects are finished.

But more details about the staff and their work, instead of just the company on a whole - to give people an insight on the people creating these spectacular games?

*Shrugs* I don't know, it would require a lot of research for some sections but it would be extremely interesting.

That could be done A podcast like the one here is a real possibility as well.

Music is already in the works, Ive got a basic system up and running already.

Staff bios is a real possibility as well, though not necessarily the number one priority quite yet.

Ill have a full list of sections that will be focused on, if you'd like. Walkthroughs are always nice to have, or basic guides. We have some, but I havent taken a full inventory yet.

Do follow us on twitter.com/NeoMidgar if youve got twitter Lots of updates will be posted there

          Oh, nice.

If you do put up a list - I can see what I can do to help you out on there Borman.

But so far, sounds and looks great.

((I used to run my own FF site/Square fansite a few years back, so I'm happy to help with anything)).

Lots of work done recently, slowing it down for the weekend. Homepage is basically done, still finishing adding content from the old site. Work is basically done on all the major 'features', that is the screenshot engine, music, video, forums, that sort of thing. Lots of optimizing left to do before Im really comfortable with how the page loads, browsers to test, that sort of thing.

Lots of old Square press CDs and such to go through this week, need to pick out the good stuff and prioritize. Videos will be the hardest with only 20gb of space on the server (though Ive got the normal shared hosting available as well with 1000gb or whatever, but that runs out in February so Im not sure Im comfortable using it quite yet).

Final Fantasy XIII demo on the way, so that will be nice to have

Now here's a question for you guys:
Would you rather have higher quality, .avi movies, or lower quality, streaming .flv.

This is not only for trailers and such, but gameplay footage as well. Ideally, I would use both, but server space is at a premium right now while Im jobless so it's just not going to work yet.

Im leaning that way, need to find the balance of quality vs size. 900mb+ for 10 minutes is a bit much, as nice as it looks

Ooh, awesomeness! Although, I've seen gameplay videos online... the game is excessively hard at first, and takes forever.
