Ok some news and it's abit of a suprise but it turns out Sega is not developing Sonic 4.

But clearly not 100% free of them. Looks like Sonic Team is still producing the title for Sega. The leaked video that was on 1up credited the release with a splash screen under the Sonic Team branding.

Really not liking Sonic's sprite, looks out of place compared to everything.

But so far, leaked news of the game *if true* somewhat confirms the problems I was expecting with the game, reused stages, and a bad jump function similar to Sonic Advance 2 *which if memory serves involved pressing and holding the button to measure sonics jump* which really took the fun out of speeding about.

No doubt it'll have a hideous tecno-esque soundtrack since that seems to be all the rage these days

Meh lets face it, in the past 2 years I don't think Sega has done ANYTHING right development wise *and if they have i'd like to be proven wrong as I seriously can't remember Segas last good game since Yakuza 2*

* Episode 1 is a prologue to the main story
* Tails and Knuckles are teased to return in Episode 2
* Moves include: Spin Dash, Rolling Attack, Homing Attack and a fourth mystery one
* Classic special stages will be returning
* The graphics aren't 3D, but CG pre-renders
* If you don't get all the Chaos Emeralds, you'll receive a classic "Try Again" ending. Getting all the emeralds results in a cliffhanger tease for Episode 2

Unfortunately to me the old pixallated Sonic games look better than that clean cut 3d/2d rubbish. The sonic sprite does kind of suck. In my opinion I think they are about 5~10 years too late for this. The poor blue hedgehog has been whored out so much that I can't get excited about him any more. Still love Sonic 1~3&k.

There is always the offchance that it will be good but I lack faith.

Yeah, I agree. I also agree with The Dude, something looks off, maybe I am just used to the original. I still remember beating 1, 2, and sonic and knuckles at least 3x each. Still got the games. Maybe I will dig out my Genesis from where ever its hiding.
