  • The best Xbox360 games?

So I got an Xbox360 last Christmas, and to this day I haven't really used it, because I'm more of a retro-gamer, and I prefer the games that are PS2 and below. But, I have been bored lately, and I know the Xbox360 has the most games going for it, and it is practically the new PlayStation of this current-generation of gaming. I was wondering if you could help me, and perhaps others who are in the same boat, with what are the best/most decent Xbox360 games since the console's release? I have a lot of catching up to do.

I got a 360 for Christmas as well, and I'm still trying to catch up. I've gotten and beaten: Halo 3, Fable II, Left 4 Dead, Gears of War and Gears 2. I'm in the midst of playing Mass Effect, and still have yet to play Bioshock and Crackdown. All the games I've listed besides the last two(because I haven't started them yet), I can testify for. They're all good in their own way, and besides Bioshock, are 360(console)-exclusive.

I can recommend you Mass Effect.
I don't like so called Space Opera stories (never was a fan of Star Wars or Star Trek), and I don't play RPG too much, yet Mass Effect sucked me in; although it has few gameplay issues, few days ago I finished it for the fourth time (130 hours total) and I'm planning to still play it - it's THAT good ;). I've heard there are some technical issues on X360 (I've played the game on PC) but installing the game on HDD solves some of them.

        Well some great games are:

        . RE5
        . GTAIV
        .Mass Effect
        .Gears of War 1/2
        .Oblivion
.Call of Duty 4/World at War
        .Dead Space
        .Halo 3
        .Fable 2
        .Left 4 Dead
        .Fallout 3
        .Lost Planet
.Mirrors Edge (although i liked it its probably best to rent it as it hasn't got the best replay value)
        .Prototype

Those are the best games i can think of off the top of my head.

Gears of War is always good. High production values make for a really visually pleasing game, if the gameplay type appeals to you. Dead Rising is also a must. Capcom has a triple pack right now, which includes Dead Rising, Lost Planet Colonies Edition and DMC4 for 30$ (all 3!). You should probably grab that since LP:C is pretty fun multiplayer.

Get Arkham Asylum. Hell of a game.

            Also, if you're into RPG's ..

WRPG = Oblivion, Fallout 3, Mass Effect
JRPG = Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, Star Ocean

Orange Box is an excellent addition to any Xbox 360 owner 5 games in one box as it says.
Call Of Duty series are also good, if you're not into PC gaming then the Xbox version of 4 & 5 should keep you very busy.
Condemned 1 & 2 are too interesting games, IMO.
Bioshock IS A MUST BUY in the 360, it is also abviable via Games on Demand, but I guess it would go cheaper used.
                GTA IV, with both DLC.

If you're into retro gaming there are some gems on Xbox Live Arcade like Doom, Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, TMNT Arcade and Turtles in Time Reshelled, SOULCALIBUR and many more.

i told myself i'd never play Gears of War or even 2 and now i know why. one of the most overrated games i played.

its not that great, and i don't see how.

Not quite sure how wise it is to listen to someone calling a game over-rated when they haven't played it haha. Yet you'll still play Yaris, Dash Of Destruction and DOA: Extreme 2? Brilliant! Regardless, he's not asking for over-rated games is he? Moving on...

Best exlusives on the platform in my opinion would include...

DEFINITELY both Gears titles, beautiful to look at and play well enough, just let down by a pretty cliched story...though it is pulled off just as well as any other game's ever done it.

Halo 3. It's not hype. Look at the sales, and look at the weekly activity charts for Live, people are still lapping that up over two years after it's release...hype doesn't do that. Even more longevity in the multiplayer from today when ODST has officially launches!

Left 4 Dead...probably both of them once the second has launched! So much fun single player, multiplied a good few hundred times when playing with your closest friends. Just about the most fun you can have on Live...plus there's a new level due to drop this week!

I'm yet to try either out myself, but GTA4 has the two episodic releases for it, and they seem very well received from what i've read, might be worth looking at if you're a fan of that sort of thing.

Looking further back, Dead Rising is available as a triple pack with Devil May Cry 4 and Lost Planet (DLC loaded edition i believe?) so that's a decent exclusive to look at if you're into the whole zombie thing!

And finally, cheap as fucking chips (or the equivalent for where you are) is Crackdown! Competely mindless action that has you picking up cars and anything not nailed down to do with as you please! GTA: Superhero Stories effectively!

And Condemned. Easily the best launch title on the system. Oozing in atmosphere, genuinely scary and creepy, it should also be available for very little at all now on the back of the rather poor sequel!

                    Just my 2 cents!

God, are you a fuckin' stalker. do you watch what everyone plays? i did play Gears 2, and i didn't play it on this my primary profile. So fuckin' what if i played games like Yaris, the shit was free, and i got nothin better to do with my time. So fuckin' what if i played DOA: Extreme 2, i bought because i thought the 1st one was really good, i got no achievements it, since obviously, you're checkin' my shit out, so in this case, i thought the game was terrible, thus why i can't even play it.

I'll say whatever the fuck i want about any game. if you don't like it, than you can go fuck yourself, or ignore my post in general if you don't like what i say.

Hello kids. A friendly warning. Play nice and follow the rules or I'll get irritated, pull six of the best out my pants, and beat you with it.

Games like GTA IV and Fallout 3 are essential in my eyes and well, if you're here then RE5 too. It's not exactly Resident Evil but it's still fun for what it's worth and the co-op makes it that much more playable than RE4.

But by far my most played 360 game is Fifa 09, I'm not even a Football fan (I only watch the World Cup) yet I'm so bloody addicted to it. I just get a real sense of satisfaction beating people playing as top teams like Man U and Barcelona with a team like Spurs.
