It truly is shocking that it wasn't really his decision to give DMC's sequel to someone else to direct. DMC2 itself, switched directors towards the end of the development cycle, and it ultimately ended up blotching Hideaki Itsuno's track record (being the director and planner of Capcom's SF Alpha series and the VS games).
Like one of his superiors, the legendary Keiji Inafune, the man is a big fan of Hideo Kojima.
