So a few days ago I decided to try playing an emulated game for the first time. I chose Final FantasY IV Adcance because I really wanted to play it and I could never actually play it on the GBA because of my eyesight.

So i download Visual Boy and the FFIV ROm and simple as pie.

Then i get cocky and decide I'll try to download other emulated games. I decide to go with SSF, a Sega Saturn Emulator, and to take it fo ra test drive, I'd try to play the original Resident Evil.

But to my amazement the SSF and most other Emulators aren't simple like FFIV. They split their games into many different files that I don't have a clue about. Oh and SSF wasn't even working for a few hours because of a DirectX glitch I only found out how to fix by looking througha lot of crap on Google.

Anyway when SSF actually started to work I looked up some guides on YouTube and Emulator forums and found out you just have to Extract all the files in one place. I still am not sure if I did that right... They still are separate files after you unzip them, right? The emulator will somehow connect all the parts so I can play the full game or whatever?

And another question. Because this shit couldn't be simple like VisualBoy I couldn't just click Opena nd load the game. No, I had to go and insall DameoN Tools. So will I have to "mount" the files in there every time I want to play a game on an emulator?

Anyway there is a happy ending to my many hours of frustration. I did get it to work so i guess I know wha tto do in future. I just want to ask people who hopefully know more than I so I can make sure when I downloa d a game I really want to play, I'll be able to play it.

...really? You really didn't think this would cause us an issue with the sites anti-piracy rules? Emulators are sadly illegal and can't be discused here. Thread closed.
