Speaking of he Excavations trailer, it looks as though Franco from Dead Space Ignition will make an appearance in Dead Space 2.
I'm willing to bet that Franco's superior is Daina, that woman we hear from in the Dead Space 2 demo.Last edited by Mr. Spencer; 12-24-2010, 03:16 AM.See you in hell.

I finally managed to play it last night. It was...interesting. A little bit more action than the first game, especially the charge of the grey children, but it still felt fairly terrifying. It helped that I had trouble getting used to the PS3 controller and got myself killed. Isaac talking isn't a big issue for me, although I certainly didn't mind his silent reactions from the first game.
The only real issue I had was the child enemies. I'm never going to be fond of kids in video games as victims like this. I could just about handle the idea that the babies in the previous game were cloned flesh rather than actual kids, but since we're in the middle of a city that isn't really a choice.

I watched the E3 Demo a little while ago, and since that demo runs a little futher than the released one (I think...maybe I'm forgetting this bit?) I spotted something...interesting.
Spoiler:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QRDVGat7HQ At the end of the trailer, when Isaac has been sucked out the window with the Tripod Necromorph pause around 1:40 and you can see what appears to be the Ishimura. The ship looks damaged, and it's certainly the right configuration, so it seems unlikely to be another Planet Cracker since Ishimura was unique...although it might be her. And yes, the Ishimura deffintely survived the explosion of Aegis VII. The latest novel, Salvage, focuses on that little plot point.
Now, given that Dead Space and Dead Space 2 are three years apart, timewise, and the ship was infected by that lovely creepy goup within hours...how much do you wanna bet the Ishimura is, effectively, one titanic hive mind within a cruchy steel shell? And it certainly explains where the Necromorphs came from for this Outbreak, doesn't it?

Nah, the Ishimura is still around. As I said, she's the subject of the latest novel, Salvage. As to whether she's still intact at the end of that, I dunno. Haven't gotten the book yet. But the Ishimura, at the very least, survived Aegis VII. Which si pretty damned scary all on it's own.
