sooo, yeah, did anyone sit through and watch this? i didn't. for one thing, there's too much nonsense that goes on during this event every year, which is why i skipped out on it. for me, i thought they best year was back in 2006.

my one concern was that, how in the hell did ODST win for best original score? it didn't really have anything unique but a few remixed tunes and some new additions. the award should of went more to Uncharted 2 or even Resident Evil 5, or you know, the games that actually had a more hollywood-cinematic tone to them, or something that was powerful, like last year's winner - MGS4. i honestly think that they just threw in the award for Halo, because well....its Halo, as if they didn't want it to feel left out, due to the 360 having a poor year compared to the PS3.

anywho, here were this year's winners:

    * Game of the Year: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
    * Studio of the Year: Rocksteady Studios
    * Best Independent Game Fueld by Dew: Flower
    * Best Xbox 360 Game: Left 4 Dead 2
    * Best PS3 Game: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
    * Best Wii Game: New Super Mario Bros. Wii
    * Best PC Game: Dragon Age: Origins
    * Best Handheld Game: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
    * Best Shooter: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
    * Best Fighting Game: Street Fighter IV
    * Best Action Adventure Game: Assassin's Creed II
    * Best RPG: Dragon Age: Origins
    * Best Multiplayer Game: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
    * Best Individual Sports Game: UFC 2009 Undisputed
    * Best Team Sports Game: NHL 10
    * Best Driving Game: Forza Motorsport 3
    * Best Music Game: The Beatles: Rock Band
    * Best Soundtrack: DJ Hero
    * Best Original Score: Halo 3: ODST
    * Best Graphics: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
    * Best Game Based On A Movie/TV Show: South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!
    * Best Performance By A Human Female: Megan Fox as Mikaela Banes in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
    * Best Performance By A Human Male: Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in X-Men Origins: Wolverine
    * Best Cast: X-Men Origins: Wolverine
    * Best Voice: Jack Black for the voice of Eddie Riggs in BrĂ¼tal Legend
    * Best Downloadable Game: Shadow Complex
    * Best DLC: Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony
    * Most Anticipated Game of 2010: God of War III

I was confused and disappointed by the announcement of Green Day: Rock Band...I was surprised by the announcement of the Arkham Asylum sequel. Other than that, I found the whole thing rather boring and "affirmative action".

You made a thread for something you didn't even watch? Good form.

I watched the show, besides the incredibly long advertisements and the shitty band that played two songs near the end, it was all right. Halo footage made the crowd go nuts.

Do me a favour yeah? Don't preach to me about how to behave, last i checked you were hardly a shining example of good behaviour on here!

Besides, myself, Brandon and Darkmoon have a deal in place where it's ok for me to reply to Brandon posts anyway. You'd be hard pushed to find anything wrong with that reply anyway, was a simple enough question.

yep. as i said, i watch it every year, except for this year and back in 2003 (because i didn't know it started then). i was in another thread, that was kept active so i got to catch up to what was going on. then i got to enjoy reading the posts more than sitting through the actual show. when they brought up appearances of Snoop, and Green Day Rock Band, i was just glad i didn't watch it.

Yeah, that had myself and my friends in a bit of confusion. They're not... bad... they're just not epic enough to need their own game. I kinda expected something more like Led Zep, or Black Sabbith, or Queen, or U2 even... bands that have a lengthy history and numerous number one hits. Green Day just doesn't fit that to me.

I found the entire show quite boring. The only things worth noting for me were Halo: Reach and Arkham Asylum 2.

I can't seem to find anything about this anywhere and I forgot to record it. Can someone please fill me in on this supposed sequel to the Sands of Time trilogy?

Ubisoft Montreal, I love you. So very, very much.

Here's to hoping they get the VA from Sands of Time/The Two Thrones...

                          Boring!

The entire show seemed like an endless commercial; shameless plugs promoting the yet-released move, PoP:Sand Of Time, misc. games.

...hell, you can even see in Snoop Dogg's face just how lame the show was - at one point, he looked like he was going to breakdown into tears of boredom during a performance.

And seriously, Green Day-Rock Band?! Don't get it twisted, I love oldschool (90's era) music from these guys, but an entire game dedicated to their simple power-chords and drum beats? Most definitely, no thanks... count me out.

I can think of dozens of bands that should have their own RockBand game - Pink Floyd, Slayer, Korn, Marilyn Manson, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Deftones, Fear Factory, Slipknot... the list goes on and on.

I'd like those. I'd like another band but I'm not even gonna say it because it's to obvious.

Seemed pretty obvious it was going to be a Sands of time to Warrior Within prequel, which means we'll get more of FILLED WITH GENERIC RAGEEEEEEEEEEE! Prince, oh joy.

Ah well, you all asked for it.
