  • Vanquish - Shinji Mikami's action shooting game (plz b PN03 d 2.!)

In case you don't know, Platinum Games have a four games deal with Sega. 3 out of the 4 games has been released in Japan (Bayonetta, Infinite Space and MadWorld). That left 1 more unannounced game, and Shinji Mikami has been reported to work on a game for years.

A new countdown have just started on Platinum Games site. It could be a countdown to an announcement of a game.

If the pieces falls correctly, his new game could be the game that will be announced next week.

On top of that, I also wanna know what Mikami is teaming up with Suda 51 to make. It sounds like a sweet idea...

Still, pretty excited for a new game.

I think that he is collaborating with Suda 51 and EA on a new horror title.

Anyway, I'm always excited for a new Mikami game.

Ah, the people who created Fatal Frame IV and Shinji Mikami, creator of Resident Evil.
I get a feel of beta RE3.5 and its ghost version lol.

You probably read something wrong there ;)

              Oh, gotcha.

...Wait, Suda Goichi helped make Fatal Frame IV?!

That's awesome. If only we could have it here in America... Ah well, I'm really interested in seeing what he and Mikami can come up with. Suda's unparalleled style and Mikami's horror experience can only lead to good things.

I am crossing it to reveal what Mikami has been working on, hopefully we should get a teaser at least and be released this year.

I suppose it's not impossible that they'll merge together, become Sam Raimi the 2nd and then recreate Evil Dead...

                        From Geoff Keighly's twitter:

This week on GTTV -- global announcement of next title from Platinum Games inside the show!

                        Woot!

Makes perfect sense, in my opinion, when they can now focus on getting to market their next game, while still doing minor marketing support on Bayonetta. Sega most likely want to release their next game this year as soon as possible.

The game's called Vanquish. Just saw the trailer on GTTV. Futuristic feel, shows America under attack, live-action female President talking about retaliation, emerging victorious. Shows a bunch of spaceships headed to Earth, a main character who looks like a stormtrooper fighting a bunch of big-ass robots. The trailer should be up on GT shortly...
