Supposedly made by a splintered group from GSC Gaming, those who made STALKER, its an RPG/FPS/Survival Horror combination. Im surprised it has never emerged anywhere, but from what Ive heard, it has been rather heavily advertised in Russia, of all places.

Xbox LIVE's had a good few pieces of video footage + features on Inside XBOX and stuff for it (probably to try to build hype 'cause of how, as far as consoles goes, it's currently only hitting the 360 + PC)

Something I have been keeping an eye on since I saw it on live. Having realized this was being made by several people from the company that developed Stalker, my levels of interest rise. I will be keeping an eye on the reviews and see how it turns out.

I find the whole marketing (or building the hype, rather) for the game extremely odd. Im not saying Im a digger for all info on the web, but something like this has completely passed me by and Im a huge fan of the STALKER games.

Are they saving the big guns for later or maybe they are afraid of being compared to Fallout 3?

Three times, iirc, the game has appeared on the Spotlight/Inside Xbox recently. If I'm not entirely wrong, they first had a shortcut when they put up one of the trailers, then on some random thingy about Upcoming Xbox Exclusives (where of course some of them were also PC titles) and once more on one of the Coming Soon - 2010 collages.

Think it might've popped up on the SentUAMessage features too (or, wait, the one that partly replaced SentUAMessage not too long ago. The Insiders or whatever they called it.) Nothing special, just namedropping + trailer + footage.

Reading CR29's post in the God Of War thread about no love for that game, i started wondering which games currently on the horizon am i most excited for...and i came back to this. Every video i've seen so far has gotten me excited for this.

Since i got my Turtle Beach headphones last year i've been waiting for a horror title to play in the dark with them on and haven't really got it yet...so i've high hopes for this one!

I see, thanks. But honestly, I dont see it being advertised anywhere. Carnivol mentioned some XBL adds, is that what you have in mind?

Also, kind of a fun fact, but that novel the game is based on, has sold over 600K units in Russia alone and is translated into 20+ languages. Thats pretty wild.

Nah, EG and VG247 have been hammering it with news stories for the past couple of weeks, and it's got it's own shelf space in Game for the pre-order...that's not something they do for game's they don't think are going to be hits.

Anyhow, anyone agrees that the position of the AK in this screenshot feels immersive and badass?



I absolutely love it. Game will probably require modding for the weapons power and accuracy, but these will come out in the first few days. The position of the gun is perfect.

G4TV.com has a new "ghosts of the metro" trailer that really looks like a great survival horror look to it. (I'm not sure how to post link 'cause it's embedded) I loved fallout 3 and I heard metro 2033 is similar and with the new horror aspect, I'm really starting to get excited about this game.
