I imagine I'm near the end of the game now, just about to enter the Labyrinth, and I'm really enjoying the gameplay so far.
A few issues so far:
Spoiler:
Bugs. Had one when I'd just started the game, I was fighting Poseidon while he was pressed against the mountain and I jumped and did the spin attack, and he backed off ready for round two, but I for some reason fell through the floor and was just falling and falling, then the backgrounds went dodgy and eventually, I died. Just had another where Kratos was half way between being on the ledge and falling off, and he was just stuck there in a weird suspended state.
Another thing is sometimes the camera angles make the jumps really difficult and I've unnecessarily died a couple of times because of it.
Thirdly, that stupid water Hera puzzle. Did my head in.
Other than that, really good. I loved the Hades boss fight where he came back with no mask and had a weird skeleton face.

I've read a lot about the game being really buggy for people...and it's weird but I never had one issue playing through it. Some people can't double-jump, others can't open chests...and some people fall right through the ground in certain areas. Weird.
Haha, I dunno why everyone complains about the Garden puzzle. I absolutely loved it. Once I figured out the key to the puzzle was the movable staircase, it was pretty easy and very fun. Probably one of my favorite puzzles in the entire series.
The garden puzzle was a little confusing at first for me but then I understood what to do.
Ok thanks CR29, I wasnt sure if they carried over or not because in GOW2 in the collection the uber chest didnt care over so you had to play the whole game over again if you missed one.
That's not the impression I got straight away because it's completely and utterly uncharacteristic of him. That is what he did, basically, by stabbing himself with the Blade of Olympus and releasing Athena's powers and 'hope' to all of the world, liberating them from the cruel and selfish Gods, but that's not why he did it. He showed numerous times that he didn't care about anything or anyone but himself and his vengeance, so I don't think he suddenly had a change of heart for humanity. It was more of a 'fuck you' to Athena than anything. She was the one who was crying about him taking her powers. "They won't know what to do with it! That was meant for me!" or something is what she said after he stabbed himself.
She, much like everyone else in the series(the Gods, the Titans, etc.), tried using Kratos as a means to an end...she wanted him to give her her powers back after Olympus was destroyed, after all the Gods were dead, so she could be the one and only ruler of the world. It was her master plan that once humanity was 'cleansed in ruin,' that she would be the last remaining deity. But, once Kratos forgave himself for his sins and got his revenge on Zeus, he had nothing left to do except stick it to Athena by killing himself and releasing her powers to the world so everyone BUT her could have them.
The only real 'change' in character he had in this game(aside from the ending where he finally forgave himself) was his reaction to having Pandora around. It seems children were his one and only weakness, and why not? The memories of slaughtering his wife and daughter have haunted him since the get-go in this series, so it makes sense that if he were to have one 'soft-spot', if you could call it that, it would be a little girl like Pandora.
Couldn't agree with you more.

I finally started the game earlier in the week. Decided to replay the trilogy from the start. Finished GOW in a day or so, with all but the 5 hour speed run and challenge trophies. Easy enough as I'd finished it before.
Moved onto GOWII which took longer than I expected, but man what a game I missed out on back in 2007. I brought the special edition back then, but my PS2 had started up DRE's the year before, first on DVD-9's then everything so I never got far into the game. Once I got my PS3, even with the backwards comp, never picked it up again. Shame I did that.
Any case, I played through it, got most of the trophies (I think I'm missing the Cyclops Eyes and challenge trophy) and then finally started GOWIII.
Based on suggestions, I started on Titan mode from the get go. Brutally decent requirements to learn patterns and plan strategy for some fights. Very impressed overall, and have found little to pick at. I'll have to come back and read all the other comments once I've finished.
I think its a little tougher than the first two but not insanely difficult or anything like some games, to me it seems like you just have more enemies at once and less time to react in certain fights, I havent gotten far into yet but from what I have played so far thats my impression very minor spoiler like in one of the first few parts, when you fight the centaur in the room after the first water horse fight and you have to move the right joystick when he hits you, similar to the medusa or minotaur fights of the first 2 GOW games but now you only have like a split second to do it, so you really gotta be on your toes with that but IMO that makes it funner, its like they made a fast paced game even faster, I havent got far into it yet but from what I have played, I am blown away, 10/10, game of the year, GOW 3 is insane!
Ok I got to ask I doint have any of the God of War games is it worth getting I know all the games have got top reviews but im not a big Hack and Slash fan I do like Devil May Cry and that Bayonetta is the God of Wars games wroth getting not just for the sake that it's another Hack and Slash game.
God of War is definitely not just another hack and slash. The first two were two of the finest games the PS2 ever had to offer, and the same can be said for God of War III on the PS3 right now. If you own a PS2 and/or a PS3, you really should play them.

Ow great that will make life alot more easy if I have all of them on the PS3 ok last thing since 1 and 2 were ported to the PS3 is there any extras added.
