Liquid. He's able to continue living thru a transplated arm into Ocelot... How badass is that?

Although technically, Ocelot actually did Spoiler:

replace Liquid's arm with a mechanical arm in MGS4, and used psychotherepy and self-hypnosis to make him think he is Liquid Snake.

To get back on topic, I voted for Solid Snake due to the fact that he was the Metal Gear series' sole protagonist ever since Metal Gear came out on the MSX Computer (I think I got that name right) in the early-1980s (if memory serves me well...).

It's such a shame that he won't be appearing in any more MGS games.
