  • Which Games have a feel of 'Old School'?

I wish to buy games but with a feeling of old school. Don't know where to start. Or even buying Old games, but which ones are actually good? Anyone help me out?

What kind of games do you like? There's no point in me telling you how awesome Fallout is if you dislike turnbased RPG's. Although it is awesome and anyone who says otherwise is going to be shot in my new world order. Also, which systems are you looking at?

I enjoy every type of game, actually it's something that I need to do. Lately I've been finding myself playing the same genre, so a change wouldn't hurt. I guess, any genre would do. As for the system, I only have a Nintendo, N64, Ps1, Ps2, & Ps3. I want to get the other platforms too, just not sure if I should get Gamecube because of the countless bad reviews they have. X-Box was never in my mind but they have great games, I just hate their controls.

The classic RE and SH games for start. You may also want to checkout Sonic Mega Collection Plus for PS2. The old Mario games for Nintendo are awesome too.

OMG Old Games!? Where do I start!?

The ones I list are for PS1 or PS2 and were all very fun to play with interesting stories.

Star Ocean 2 (interesting story and you can cook^^)
Valkyrie Profile (be warned the dialogue can be ludicrous/stupid/funny)
Monster Rancher 1 (The original and the best if you like monster raising/fighting games)
Saga Frontier (interesting/older style of play, multiple character stories)
Disgaea 2 (fun strategy RPG with goofy dialogue)
Soul Nomad:And the World Eaters (fun strategy rpg with unique style)

I have more, but I'll only list them if you want them. Don't want to go crazy with this.

Goldeneye: 007 and Perfect Dark for the N64.

Two of the best FPS games ever made.

Luckily, I have Perfect Dark. Its awesome.
Pong... Tetris...Love 'em both, have 'em.

And very much appreciated Lilith. I am sure enough to check out those games I guess, I don't have much time of my own to see what's old and good out there. I wouldn't mind if you got more. Though money is low, I got ways of playing them.

I plan to get all of RE and SH, those are the main focus. As for Sonic and Mario games, I need to first off all know where to buy 'em. I don't see them too often.

Always thought Goldeneye and Perfect Dark were over-rated, then again never been one for FPS'.

Whenever I think of old school I can't help but think of the classic capcom arcade sidescrollers, like Knights of the Round, Final Fight, Dungeons and Dragons and Captain Commando.
