Does any one have any recommendations for PS1 games?

    I have:

    all the Resident Evils
    Silent Hill
    Koudelka
    Tomb Raider 1~4 (no Chronicles)
Duke Nukem and Land of the Babes
    Deathtrap Dungeon
    Tekken 1~3
    In cold blood
Alone in the Dark a new nightmare
    Fear Effect 1&2
    Overblood 2
    Parasite Eve 2
    Dino Crisis 1 and 2
Final Fantasy 4~9 (black label )
    Abes oddessy/exodus
    Gta 1 and 2
    Xena Warrior Princess
    Soul Blade
    Time Crisis
    Die Hard Trilogy
    D
    Parappa the Rapper
and a few other shittier games like World is not enough and Alien Trilogy (I know some of the above list are shitty too)

I know I should go and find Metal Gear Solid but any other recommendations for "Classic PS1" titles? Trying to get all the ones I would find interesting before PS1 becomes collectable like the god damn Snes and Nes. A lot of my PS1 titles I've picked up for less than a £5, only one I spent a bit of cash on was D but no where seemed to have it and Ebay only had one Pal copy. lol, was an interesting conversation with local shops that still had PS1 games, "I'm looking for D", always thought I was looking for Vampire Hunter D.

Unfortunately I'm good old UK Pal so there are several titles I probably won't get my hands on like Clocktower or Parasite Eve 1 without importing.

I'm confused by the thread. If you want old school games, you just say "Anything pre-PS1" surely?

If you're talking modern day games with an old school touch...you say Shadow Complex or something on XBLA's Indie Games section.

Well, an obvious one is Parasite Eve 1. Although of course you need an American machine to run that one. Stupid Square.

And what part of Urban Chaos has a feeling of old school?

It's a magnificent blend of platforming, outright action and hilarious dialogue. Insomniac Games has been like the EA of the action platformer, chugging these things out almost annually since 2002. Except unlike EA, their games aren't just more of the same with a fresh coat of paint. They may follow the same general format, but they always add more to do, easter eggs to find, insane weapons to use and of course... the Insomniac Museum to peruse.

I can safely say that out of eight Ratchet and Clank entries, each one has been above average (yes, even Ratchet: Deadlocked ). However if you aren't willing to hunt them all down, the top three major ones to find are, in order of importance:

                    With a PS3/PS2:
                    1. Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal (MUST HAVE.)
                    2. Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time (I loved the new solar system hub world, and the little platforming moons were loads of fun)
                    3. Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando (this takes place chronologically before Up Your Arsenal, in both storyline and release date. Amazing fun though.)

                    Without a PS3/Just PS2:
                    1. Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal
                    2. Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando
                    3. Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters (ported from the PSP. Haven't played the PS2 version, but if it's as good as the PSP version then it should be great fun).
it may be me but there seems to be a bit of inuendo in thos titles lol. Then again, i am rather childish haha

If your looking for some decent ps1 titles, I own and reccomend the following....

The final fantasy series(If you want to go true old skool pick up origins and anthology)
breath of fire 3 (claassic japanesey rpg)
parasite eve (its worth importing even if it means sorting a ps1 that enables ntsc)
                          resie series(obviously)
fear effect(probably the more fun out of the 2)
fear effect 2 (little more challenging than its predecessor)
saga frontier 2( little out of the norm but ultimately a great rpg
theme park(who doesnt like theme parks!?!?)

I also thoroughly recommend the ps1 version of final fantasy tactics(I played this game so much I literally wore out the disc!)
The psp version is available in pal and ntsc territories with a few little extras thrown in over the original but you have to put up with stupid OLDE english text plus theres certain special weapons and armour you can only obtain in the original port.

OMG! I completely forgot about Breath of Fire 3! I LOVED that one! Breath of Fire 4 wasn't too bad either, but quite different from the third one.

Yeah I thought the world of bof4 was a little to linear(just the general feel and layout) plus I prefered the characters in 3.

Definitely agree with that! I had a crush on Rei. He's adorable. Oh, and I got addicted to fishing! Fishing is never that fun in real life.
