OMG I can't believe it. Valve is porting Steam to the Macintosh and this game is coming out for it. Did I die... and go to heaven?

Maybe this will help developers release other source engine games for the Mac now that Valve finally decided to write a version for Mac OS X (after 5+ years)

Still wow. I played the first one at my friends house. It was very cool and this one will probably be great to! ^^

I hate puzzle games, Portal leaves me cold. But I appreciate its impact in the videogame world, even though I believe its kind of an additional flavour to the Half Life series.

            And Half Life is fantastic.

The only thing which interests me about Portal is its ties to Ep3.

                Teaser Trailer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5iM9YSs0Q8

The gameplay looks awesome, looks like they're really evolved it from the first game, and the teaser trailer is pretty cool. I think a certain company might have shoved some mighty big bucks into Gabe Newells pocket to get him to say a rather big thing to perhaps make people forget about how buggy Orange Box was on their system. Just a theory.

Well I had my doubts about where they could go with this game and to my surprise it does look like they have thought up some new and interesting puzzle mechanics.

Though my only concern is that it may become a bit too fast paced with flash "Dodge the laser security" solutions. You know all flashy and gimmicky.

But I'm eagerly awaiting this now.

I sometimes like to describe sequels as "glorified expansion packs."

I feel that what we've seen of Portal 2 is kinda threading a bit much into that territory. The mechanics we've seen now seem to heavily rely on timing and various quirky things you'd do in Portal 1 when you were doing speed attacks or other sorts of challenges, but then again... trailers usually are deliberately packed with so much action that you get a false impression of how much of it there really is in the actual product. (Kinda like how almost all trailers and DVD inlays for The Man From Earth features the scene with the gun )

Don't get me wrong, though, there are some really cool features being displayed in the trailer (I especially like the vacuum cleaner-ish thing. Physics + Carn = Funtime)

I know what you mean by "Expansion pack" though to be fair Sonic 2 was essentially an expansion of Sonic 1.

I just hope it isn't all fast paced, kind of removes the fun for me if it is.

If you want it to be the best version of the game, then make it keyboard and mouse compatible. Until then, the 360 will do me fine thanks. Would need a lot more "Steam elements" than simply being able to pick up my game save on a seperate PS3.

Don't you see the potential in cloud support?

People can go on a PC, copy saves, steam cloud them, then transfer them to every PS3 in the world and unlock all trophies, at once.

Best version ever - trophy whores rejoice!

The incorporation of Tag's mechanics seems very nice. I am hyped!

                                No it won't.
Portal 2 is going to be much bigger than the first game.
