  • Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

One look at the all-new Tomb Raider game and you'll see why Eidos and Crystal Dynamics have put aside the famous name for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. This is a very different Tomb Raider game.

Looks terrible if you ask me

I don't know what to think about it. Isometric view, co-op, arcade style gameplay... Looks more like a Trine than your typical Lara Croft adventures, but we will see how it will turn out.

I think thats why they aren't using the Tomb Raider title, it really isn't looking like a TR game, it's just some game with Lara in it.

Looks interesting at best. I considered Legend and Anniversary to be a return to form, so i'll definitely check this out.

Ohh, at first I thought it was weird, but when actually looking at the screenshots, I'm impressed.
Looks good, cannot wait to try it out! Co-op is also an interesting turn to make.

It's always a pleasure to play Tomb Raider games, so i can't really wait to play this new adventure while waiting for TR9.

                Looks s.. h... i... t... e... shite.

Eidos should just leave the franchise alone for quite a few years and then start working on something good.

It's an arcade, co-op game for 15$, so for what it is, it looks ok.

But I agree that Eidos should stop milking Lara for few years and then deliver new and fresh title (just like they did with TR: Legend).

They said that another team is already working on a "proper" Tomb Raider game.

Probably the one that Kotaku got an early look at with the dark imagery again.

Thought they would have learnt from the last time they tried that.

Sounds like a Harry Potter book.

Well this time the developer isn't starting scratch on a new engine on completely new hardware and Eidos is letting them take their time on it so they at least learned to avoid those pitfalls. This little game is hardly a good way to tide fans over though.

Right..... I take it by the missing "Tomb Raider" prefix it is going to end up classed as non cannon.

It doesn't look like my cup of tea but that doesn't mean its going to be bad but it does feel like to me that some one had this idea and after rejection by another certain archeologist, they ended up slapping Lara in.

Anyone else notice Square Enix as the publisher?
