  • Games everybody dislikes, that you like.

Why don't we talk about what games we like that others dread. =P

Anyways, I always enjoyed this game ever since I was about nine years old:

Yep, a 16-Bit Simpsons game. Note that this is the Super Nintendo version, and that dogshit degraded Sega Genesis/Mega Drive port. Personally, I feel that this is one of the most underrated games based on the Simpsons license, at least. To many people the controls suck, but I think it just needs some getting used to for a little while; even then, it's loads better than how say ShTH plays. It does have some irritating moments in the game, but it definitely not an impossible game to beat, it just takes trial and error. This is my second favorite Simpsons game behind Hit & Run, which is admittedly a superior game. I haven't played any of the other 16-Bit Simpsons titles so I don't know what the rest of them are like.

Last year, I got to play it again after disusing it for so many years and did a PEMNAS video run on YouTube. It got so popular that it's gradually becoming one of the first results that show up when you search "Virtual Bart" on YouTube and even Google! Spoiler:

Here are some of my favorite levels in the game:

Welcome to the third part of my third ever PEMNAS Playthrough. This month's game is the particular licensed Simpsons game Virtual Bart (SNES version). Not th...

    That's a good use of limited 3D.

        RE4...

Turok 2008 was pretty good even though people seem to hate it. IMO the only bad Turok is Shadows of Oblivion. Lack of dinosaurs or dinosaur-like creatures=s***.

I liked Silent Hill Homecoming, even though it gets a pretty bad rep.

I'm also a huge fan of Twilight Princess, which IMO is the best 3D Zelda.

Yeah I love RE4 and reallly like SH:Homecoming too...

Add RE5 and Clive Barker's Jericho to that list, most of the people I know don't like 'em.

Dark Sector, such an under-rated game, a perfect blend of Gears and RE4. Pains me that people are still reluctant to pick it up when it's only like £5 in the shops now.

Oh man. I loved Virtual Bart, I don't care what the haters say.

I also enjoyed Enchanted Arms, despite the poor reviews.

And... Sonic 2006 was something I enjoyed. Yes, the story was awful, and yes, the camera was awful, and of course there were glitches, but... I enjoyed it gameplay wise, when it wasn't pissing me off because of the glitches/camera/story.

Dark Sector was such a great game. I didn't like multiplayer but Single Player WAS AWESOME!

                          Drag-on-Dragoon & Drag-on-Dragoon 2 / Drakengard & Drakengard 2.

For some reason, most people I've spoken with have been freaked out by the game, or they don't understand it so they bitch and moan about it.

They're good games, I like them overall.

Castlevania - Lament of Innocence, because the 3D Castlevania games have a reputation for being awful... I actually enjoyed it as the designs, gameplay and music weren't THAT bad.

Bujingai/The Forsaken City/Swordmaster, being a Wuxia inspired game featuring Gackt essentially being the main character (He mo-capped, VA'd, was on the overall rendered as the main character (has a bonus costume that is of himself) and did the advertising for it).
Bonus Lau Wong Costume ~ GACKT Opening (one I captured earlier, wasting time).

Beautiful game, people complain it's too hard, too short, that they don't know that "Gackt guy in the videos/What is 'GACKT' guys???", or that it's too cheesy (come on, the brightly coloured large subtitles/out of place font-type overlays, traditional character overlays and occasional Engrish screw ups are typical of a few translations of old and new Wuxia films).

I've never met anyone that isn't a Gackt fan that has picked the game up and enjoyed it which is a shame, as it is a nice hack and slash game.

*Shrugs* Bit of a long list, since I'm willing to play most games - there's a lot that I've enjoyed and others' have absolutely hated them.

I actually played a demo of the first one back when magazines were awesome.
Then I got the PS3 reimaging when it came out, blew my fucking mind.
Then I got Forbidden Siren, and the immense difficulty hooked me. >_>

Anywho...I would say Michigan is a game I loved, yet I understand nearly 99.2% of the entire population, hates it. :3
I understand why, but for some reason, I really liked it.
