It seems they're trying to make the rest periods few and far between. If that's early on in the game, damn it seems like the latter few chapters of the first one. There's still really nothing new, but again, hopefully we'll see some well staged surprises.

Randomwab just linked me to a youtube upload of an IGN tagged Goldeneye Wii trailer which was DMCA'd seconds later (go on youtube and search for goldeneye and sort by date if you can't wait for it to pop up properly somewhere. Since IGN doesn't seem to have it up yet either... at least I failed at finding it)
Looks nice. Totally a pseudo-remake of the N64 game and not just sharing its name.

Little more in-depth thoughts of the evening...
Pretty underwhelming conference on Microsoft's part following a strong opening tonight. The end of the Rising trailer gave me chills (despite my contempt for the hack 'n' slash genre the game seems to be heading towards), what i could make out of Gears 3 on my stream looked just about as epic (no pun intended) as i'd have expected, and Halo: Reach ls just Halo, which suits me just fine!
But my, how rapidly downhill things went from there! We're talking Reggie Fils-Aime levels of cheese mixed in with bullshit! The "twin sister" over Video Kinect was acting at it's worst, the geek showing off his dance "moves" and that poor little girl playing with her cyber pet? As i put on Twitter just moments after, that girl will become an internet meme sensation overnight for stroking the animal/cupping someone's balls.
That said, i'd imagine them handing out the new 360 to all in attendance to be a smart damage limitation excercise. That, or the journalists on hand will take it as an admission on Microsoft's part that they fucked up royally.
Such a shame. From memory, Microsoft stole the show last year, completely his the ball out of the park. Yet this year it all went down shit creak at an alarming rate. Was hoping to see more "hardcore" titles, a bit more about X-Box Live Arcade, and maybe even an announcement about Games On Demand improving...but nothing.
That said, there're two XBLA videos on Live right now, but you only need to bother with the Montage trailer since the Summer Of Arcade trailer is just the second half of the Montage. Some amazing looking games on there, it's going to be an expensive few months on there. Just hoping now that the Gears 3 playthrough is released on there so i can see it in all it's HD glory!
Nintendo and Sony tomorrow, and i really don't expect much better from either team. Nintendo up until tonight ran the bracket on ball clenching awfulness, so how will they react in light of tonight's cheesefest?
You have to think Sony are only going to follow suit and ram their motion tech down everyone's throats though. That, or they could do the sensible thing and work their asses off overnight having analysed the many areas Microsoft messed up and then offer something completely different. Unlikely, but you can only hope!

No doubt about it... This show was worse than Ninty's conference last year. By a huge mile.
I mean, it's disappointing that Natal/Kinect this late in the game still looks like an half-baked project. You can easily tell by the look of the Kinect games. Kinect Sports, Kinect Adventures, Kinect Joyride were incredibly uninspiring efforts. There was also some noticeable LAG between player action and on-screen response. So much for being better than what was already available since late 2006. And the game/demo/concept that I remember that got ppl most excited last year was a no show this year (Milo).
Hulu seems to have been replaced by ESPN.
Maybe MS is shifting most of their efforts somewhere else. Like trying to keep up with Apple & Google. I just didn't feel like they tried hard enough this year.
Well it's not the end of the world.... Unless Sony/Nintendo exceed expectations at their conferences.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.
