    • It's weird that just looking at that female character's face we cannot agree on who that is suppose to be. And it's not like the in-game graphics suck to the point we cannot tell either. They look pretty good for a portable system.

It's weird because it used to be that just looking at RE characters we could tell who they were.

I remember reading a quote from an RE team member in charge of the character modeling of REmake. He said that working under Shinji Mikami was going to be hell for them. Because Mikami would make them work on the characters/enemies until they got them right.

That's been the problem ever since Mikami hit the bricks... I mean, when we first saw that trailer of RE5 barely anyone knew that the main character in that trailer was supposed to be Chris. Some even thought it was Billy Coen.

Except that her attire looks EXACTLY the same as Jill's BSAA outfit in RE5. And she has the exact same hair. Her face just looks a lot older in the screenshot - maybe it's due to the lighting, or they'll explain something like the P30 kept her looking young after her "near death" experience (an experience which sometimes ages people) and once the remaining P30 ran its course from her body, the aging process affected her harshly. Who knows? But that IS Jill. (I'm not trying to be harsh on you here, just stating that it is pretty obvious that it's Jill.)

I still don't see how anyone could have seen the first RE5 trailer and not known that was Chris Redfield. His face was almost the same as the REmake version (though not as similar as the final RE5 build one). And Billy Coen?! Really? The guy with the giant tribal tattoo on his arm and a love of mullets? That would have been the last person to come to my mind if perchance I didn't recognize the character as Chris, haha.

Anyway, pertaining to E3...no "Last Guardian" is a severe letdown. I am a sad, sad panda.

I'm saying that there is some confusion about that girl. Some sites claim that she is Claire (Cubed3 is one).

Well I guess you don't remember those early days full of silly speculation... Some thought he was Billy based on some false info published on the imdb. I even remember ppl saying that it could be Carlos Oliveira.

Point is such iconic characters should be ID'ed on the spot. That's all I'm saying here. That and the possibility that Mikami's touch could've prevented that issue from ever popping up.

          • As someone said, I REALLY hope this takes place after RE5, as a side-story testament to Chris's final line that he'll continue fighting for "a world without fear." I'm god damned sick of the interim between Dead Aim and RE5 and for them to innovate any more in that chronology just seems contrived. Outbreaks on smaller scales, thank you, no more epic fist fights (as fun as it was to play the Wesker fights); I want to see some interesting products of the viral and parasitic abominations past Wesker's efforts...maybe even a new biological plot device.

Stop talking out your ass. Its Sherry and Carlos, cant you tell? Dont you dare spread your Jill lies around here.

Definitely excited for Twisted Metal. I remember playing the originals with my brother and his friends.

              • Man, I can't believe i'm saying this but nintendo won e3 this year ..

sony was a distant second with Kevin Butler earning them good points

MS was a spec on the radar.

                • The way I see it, as far as the conferences went, Nintendo > Sony >>> Microsoft.

Nintendo: Games, games, games and more games, plus a new handheld with TONS of 3rd-party support.

Sony: 3D, Move, sequels to established franchises, 'exclusive' partnership with EA, Portal 2 bombshell, Twisted Metal re-boot.

Microsoft: Gears 3, Halo: Reach, ESPN...Kinect. Meh.

                  • I can't wait for Shin Megami Tensei, Persona (1 I would assume will be remade for the 3DS), and Devil Survivor. The former two use first person perspective dungeons so I suppose the 3D interface will take advantage of that. Other than that I don't know how the character designs will look. Nonetheless Atlus seems to enjoy trying everything with the series so I can't wait to see what they'll pull off.

Honestly I'm more excited about the library they revealed than the actual 3D function, but I can't wait to see that in action. I just hope they work out the kinks because the article describing it in practice IIRC says that your eyes need to hit a sweet spot to get the full effect. I'm at least glad to hear the developers creaming their pants over it. Always great to hear designers enthusiastic about a platform.

I'm always excited when Atlus utters Shin Megami Tensei. Though...I'd rather Devil Survivor be something older too.

And I know its never, ever going to happen...but I wish someone would pick up Thrill Kill and remaster it. I think I have better chances of winning the lottery though.

                      • I'm not that worried about the 3DS so-called "sweet spot" since even in the regular DS or GBA you had to avoid looking at the screens from an angle or from a particular distance. Once you know whta the sweet spot is at, you should have no probs.

                        I think.

It's like this. Let me explain. Let me tell ya how it went down. Y'see... I replied to a user that was worried about that "sweet spot". Said user wants that sweet spot to stop being such a problem. Maybe Ninty can help.

But here's the deal... most handhelds have a sweet spot. 3D or not they have one. So I compared that sweet spot to the one present in handhelds you can buy today.

Once you get that you need to position yourself around the portable gadget to take advantage of its sweet spot.. everything becomes copacetic.

                            The End.

PS. Spielberg just loves motion controls. Doesn't care where he may get his fix either...

                            • I don't see what everyone is so excited about for the most part. Because of the time difference here I slept through all the conferences... no doubt what I've seen/read since Nintendo's had the best this year, but overall that's like the winning in the special olympics joke. The mere fact that everything I slept through there is not a single surprise announcement of a title not yet announced or heavily rumored/basically awaiting a confirm.

The Goldeneye "reimagine" was accidentally confirmed by IGN 2 days ago when they posted the same trailer that Nintendo screened (and I think they should have gone with just the HD edition of the original rather than a half new/half old thing which has a bigger chance of being crap). Portal 2 on the PS3 is the shock announcement that Sony should have left for last, but it is for a game that we know plenty about. Twisted Metal's been a persistant and obvious rumor which was already confirmed by Pacter being his usual cock of a self. We awaited Zelda, Gears 3, Killzone 3, MSG Rising, etc. Mostly sequels, and all known on the list. The fact that The Last Guardian was a no show and the fact that Rising's trailer was short are probably the more shocking points :p

The 3DS list reads well, but they're all remakes, reimagines, and basic extensions of titles for the most part.

The year in general was for better presentations than last for sure, but it also lacked the entire gauntlet of major NEW announcements that it had. A great year will have both.

Is that the joke that makes fun of people that look like they enjoy the heck out of life? And that don't care about silly conferences and console wars? Don't wanna read that joke, man. It's cruel.

Even if there is only a 1% chance of it being good... it would still be 80% better than what we saw a day before at the MS conference.
