I like mortal kombat more because MvC3 is too fast.

To me, Mortal Kombat is less about keying in a specific combo to instantly win and more about actually fighting. Sure sometimes its way more frustrating, but I feel that its also more satisfying.

What really sells mortal kombat for me is the polish. The amount of kontent, the story, the character damage, and the sheer ridiculousness of it all just make it a blast to play.

You nailed it. I feel the same way about MK vs MvC3. I expected soooo much more from MvC3... Mortal Kombat did what I wanted with MvC3: A PROPER STORY, shitloads of extra content, unlockables... I won't say MvC3 is not a good fighting game cuz' I would be lying, that game is beast, but for me MK is the superior title in all aspects. But hey, it's a free world, if you want to worship Marvel, then do it.

Special moves aren't associated with fighting styles

You clearly never played MK: Deadly Alliance, Deception, or Armageddon. They use real fighting styles. Look it up.

I was with you until you copped out by speaking about games that aren't actually being discussed. This is about MK (2011), not any of its predecessors.

Plus he wasn't attempting to branch off into a Virtua Fighter discussion, he just made an off-hand reference that actually held quite a bit of merit. When we're having a discussion about realism, Mortal Kombat (this iteration of it) is about as far away from realism as possible, especially since this game does everything it can to distance itself from the entries before it which showcased actual fighting styles.

^ This thread is about pretty much anything MK, since we've had discussions about the online series and the upcoming arcade games. The point I was proving is that MK has always been on the realistic side, since Ed Boon has studied and used many actual fighting styles in the series. I'm pretty sure he used some for MK(2011) as well.

Bottom line, this is a MK thread and if people don't like it there's a MvC3 thread down below. No need for anyone to come in here and basically start bashing the game.

Sooo I played some matches online and was quite frustrated LOL all people seem to do is turtle and then use a vanishing move, all I've faced are Scorpions Ermacs and Smokes and it's funny because all the "combos" are pointless I end up spamming special moves back at them to win

A win is a win. If your opponent uses a particular playstyle you have to adjust to beat it.

Played with Jillstars4ever about an hour ago. He's really good. Watch out for his Sonya though. He's mean with her.

I also just got done playing with a guy who is in the PDP Tournament. OH man he kicked my ass so bad lol. I did win with Mileena though. He told me some tricks and tips and said my best character is Mileena but I still need to work on her. It was a pleasure to play with the guy for sure.
