        So many youtube links! (Also, thumbs up for Rearmed soundtrack and the Terran track from StarCraft)

        I see a lot of Metal Gear here, and I bet it's just a matter of time before someone's gonna post Heaven's Divide from Peace Walker, but I shall already counter that by saying I much prefer Donna Burke's performance in Last Remnant.

        The Last Remnant - Journey's End;
        YouTube video:

        I actually wanna spam some The Last Remnant music, 'cause it's full of live instrument hawtness (something game soundtracks seriously should've had more of), but I'll just not do it and instead post a Lost Planet 2 track instead

        Lost Planet 2 - Sub Theme
        YouTube video:

        Just gotta love the scene this track plays in.

        Also, I've several times said I'm a SunSoft whore (which is very true), so here's one of the greatest game tracks , ever.

        Journey to Silius - Stage 2
        YouTube video:

        Not recognizing the greatness of this track would just prove that opinions can in fact be WRONG.

        By the way, how about more people start using the filthy little [ youtube] 7sdYuDfbWuo [ /youtube] feature we have? (Just remember to write name near the clickety click button! So people don't have to click to find out.)

            1. Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night (seriously, one of the best game OST's of all time. It has such a wide variety of different music for each and every stage, here's hoping the upcoming CV can catch some of that old majic with a beatiful soundtrack)

            2. RE 2
            3. RE Remake
            4. SH2
            5. SH3

              It's almost sacrilegious that no one mentioned that OST before. I think that even the NES Castlevania games had pretty catchy tunes as well.

              My faves(aside from many already mentioned here) are:

              Youtube Video: Killer 7 - Dissociative Identity
              YouTube video:

              Youtube Video: Legend of Zelda Orchestra Medley

                The only rule my friends and I obey when we play starcraft is that if you're terran, you MUST turn the music up as loud as you can.
                Its funny to listen to those three tracks on Korean progaming live broadcasts. I dont think I could listen to Terran track casually, but its damn fine background noise when sieging tanks, laying vulture mines and shooting EMP-s up Protoss rear end!

                    ^ 'Songs'! That's the one word I didn't search. I searched music, OST, games and soundtracks...but not 'songs.' Oh well.

                    Maybe someone can merge them together.

                      Never thought I'd say this, but there's a tiny bit too little Final Fantasy VII in this thread... so to transition ourselves over into that, we'll start with a track from the Compilation instead;

                      Crisis Core - Price of Freedom
                      YouTube video:

                      To then leap all the way back to 97, when some of us heard this for the first time (after probably counting a solid 10 hours inside of Midgar, just to realize it was but a tiny fragment of a world so grand):
                      Final Fantasy VII - Main Theme (World Map)
                      YouTube video:

                      While on the subject of World Maps and main themes, the version of Melodies of Life that was featured in Final Fantasy IX's World Map tune probably shouldn't be omitted from this either.

                      Final Fantasy IX - Over the Hill
                      YouTube video:

                      It's things like that which subconsciously contributes to making people not appreciation a certain lack of a world map in the franchise's latest offline main entry.

                      Speaking of the shortcomings of Final Fantasy XIII, as I were, another thing that keeps poppin' into my head now is also music related... town music. "Good" town music is composed in such a way that I honestly can't see it fit with anything else.

                      Terranigma - Crysta
                      YouTube video:

                      I can't see a specific type of "scene" fit with something like this, it really does require a specific type of full setting.

                      Also, to just drop some random tracks here;

                      Lost Odyssey - A Mighty Enemy Appears (one of the game's many battle/boss themes)
                      YouTube video:

                      Lost Odyssey - Main Theme
                      YouTube video:

                      There's just something about the style of Uematsu's compositions for Lost Odyssey that I feel is just contextually right.

                      Final Fantasy XI - Ronfaure
                      YouTube video:

                      Final Fantasy XI - Heaven's Tower
                      YouTube video:

                      I feel that far too many are giving Final Fantasy XI a rough time, for the sole reason that it's an online game. To be honest, although the game does suffer from typical MMO grinding designs, the leveling is much easier now. Not to mention how all the current features/updates have made things much more social and easier for mix 'n' matching of high and low levels in parties and stuff, what with level sync features and such being an integral part of the gameplay.

                      Anyway, Final Fantasy XI is game rich on story, setting, design and atmosphere, but unfortunately easily dismissed by many for its reliance on online and multiplayer.

                      Bla bla bla.

                      And to just drop some more tracks from a couple of composers I feel like are underrepresented in this thread so far (Motoi Sakuraba and Jesper Kyd);

                      Star Ocean 2 - Rena's Theme
                      YouTube video:

                      Hitman: Blood Money - Apocalypse
                      YouTube video:

                      I found it strangely funny when I once saw a StarCraft documentary on TV here and the entire thing was blessed with Final Fantasy Tactics music.

                      =Rombie]
                      Chrono Cross - Time's Scar
                      Oh. Yes. There's a track from the Chrono Trigger remix project which I feel is such a nice companion piece to this track;

                      Chrono Trigger - The Place We knew (based on Outskirts of Time)
                      YouTube video:

                      Also, everytime I hear this (or any of Reuben Kee's remixes, really), I can't help but feel sad inside 'cause of the fact that he passed away a few years ago. He's without doubt on my top 10 amongst remixers (along with the woman doing vocals on The Place We Knew, she's got some pretty top quality pieces of work/contribution too.)

                        Oh yeah man, what a loss Kee was. Numerous remixes and works inspired by games of his are in my Remix folder. I was waiting for some studio to pick him up to do original work for a new game, but his untimely death put a stop to that ever happening. A real real shame.

                          Since Time's Scar was brought in and I threw in the nice CT vocal remix, I think this track needs to be thrown in too;

                          Chrono Cross - Radical Dreamers ~Unstolen Jewel~
                          YouTube video:

                          Both Chrono Trigger and Cross and have such nice music.

                          Chrono Trigger - Peaceful Days
                          YouTube video:

                          Chrono Trigger - Millennial Fair

                            Sonic the Hedgehog - 'Green Hill Zone'
                            YouTube video:

                            I really hope Sonic 4 has a slightly changed version of this song. A remix or something.
