Not going to bother with this. I purchase very few games from the PSN, and very little DLC for the disc-based games that I buy. Early access and things like video downloads don't bother me either.

Does anyone else think this is the first step towards a pay-for-online-play system ala Xbox live to be implemented in the future? (I have no evidence for this, just a hunch and general distrust of big companies).

I logged on to PSN this morning and had to agree to new 'terms and conditions'.
I actually read most of it...
It's pretty much just Sony saying they will not be held responsible for whatever grief they cause. And their right to do whatever the hell they want.

The new 'Playstation Plus' thing sounds quite horrific in a lot of ways. I havn't looked into what options are available but from what I was reading, it sounds like you are handing over the control of your console. Things will be updated, downloaded and even deleted(!), automatically. Sounds like a terrible nightmare!!!
But I presume you can opt out of giving away control like that. I can't imagine there would be many people willing to get on board otherwise.

since having my PS3 the one thing i dont like with games now is that in some game they are not fully complete as the extra maps, costumes and levels you have to pay extra for could be included.

I don't usually play online either and it appears to be aimed towards that. Especially if you loose things you previously could play, once your subscription expires. Sounds like you will have to be signed into the PSN network to use the stuff.
          F**K THAT!!!

I presume they will eventually introduce this into PAL territories too.
Agreed. Paying to play sucks. Im happy being a solo gamer.

I think that's what he means. You dont HAVE to buy plus. No one is going to hold a gun to your head and say "BUY PLAYSTATION PLUS".

Haha people are making it so dramatic when they hear psn will make you pay for better stuff on psn. Who cares so long as you can still go online and co-op.

so what about those who already have a Qore subscription. if its becoming integrated with PSN+, are people gonna have to pay twice now just to keep they're own Qore service running, or is Qore still gonna be optionally separate.

what about the ability to play PS1 classics, ect, on the PSP through this service. if you have to be online at all times on the PS3 to keep them active , then how are you gonna be able to transfer them to the PSP, when the PSP doesn't stay online.

Here's a tip given to you at an earlier post by Stu.

Here's another quote for you and an answer to what you're looking for since you don't seem to get it.
PlayStation Plus is a premium PlayStation Network subscription service that was officially unveiled at E3 2010 by Jack Tretton, President and CEO of SCEA. Rumors of such service had been in speculation since Kaz Hirai's announcement at TGS 2009 of a possible paid service for PSN but with the current PSN service still available. Scheduled to launch on June 29, 2010, the paid-for subscription service will provide users with enhanced services on the PlayStation Network,on top of the current PSN service which will still be available with all of its features. These enhancements include the ability to have demos, game and system software updates download automatically to the PlayStation 3. Subscribers will also get early or exclusive access to some betas, game demos, premium downloadable content and other PlayStation Store items as well as a free subscription to Qore. At launch, users may choose to purchase either a one-year or a three-month subscription to PlayStation Plus. If users purchase the one-year subscription at launch, they will get an additional three-months for free and users in Europe will be given a digital copy of LittleBigPlanet. Regular free bonuses will also be made available. These include PlayStation Store discounts and free PlayStation Network games, PSone Classics and PlayStaton Minis which the user will own for the duration of their subscription as well as themes and avatars which the user can keep after their subscription has lapsed. PlayStation Plus will also offer "Full Game Trials" of some PlayStation Network and retail games, allowing the user to download the full game and use it for a limited time.
                      Also here's more for you.

considering Stu doesn't mean shit to me, i'll post what every thoughts i want, regardless if anyone likes it or not.

also, those still don't answer my questions, especially the PSP one.

Considering i "don't mean shit" to you, you don't half over-react when i address you?

Might i suggest you fire off an email to Sony? Or maybe register on their blog? Or sign upto somewhere like Neogaf (if you'd be accepted) where your answers might be better directed?

how are you getting it free? i know its supposed to be free but everytime i try to activate my gold G4WL it asks me to pay per certain amount of months. is it just becuase my G4WL and XBL accoutns are the same?
