Anyone else here a fan of the Dragon Quest franchise? I'm eagerly awaiting Dragon Quest: IX Sentinels of the Starry Skies next week, looks really fun and I'm a huge fan of DS RPG games. I've got Dragon Quest IV on DS that I've not played properly yet, but I'm really loving Dragon Quest V and I have developed an unhealthy obsession with the adorable slimes.

Got my copy of IX the day it came out...been playing it on and off since I've been busy with work. It's pretty fun. I only ever played a few of the earlier DQ games...III being my favorite.

I only played Dragonquest VIII. I can't remember but it was ps2 and the main character was a quiet protagonist with a bandanna and was of royalty blood though he wasn't exposed till near the ending. Was that dragonquest VIII?

This was my first (Dragon Quest) RPG ever...



I got hooked with that one back in the 90's. Later moved on to Final Fantasy and even the Ultima games. And Chrono Trigger when I finally got a SNES late in that decade.

Thing is, I have a soft spot for Dragon Quest games. Especially because I adore Toriyama's art work.

I only played Dragon Quest VIII on PS2 years ago; around the time it came out. I didn't play too much of it, but from what I hear (including the rest of the series), that it's one of the best RPGs out there.

Played VIII and a ROM or two of earlier ones wanted to get IX but don't have the cash flow and it came with a keyring of the slimes too if you pre-ordered at GAME

Loved VIII in particular and went back to it a few months ago got to about the point when someone kidnaps/steals Medea and didn't go on, got a new game I think a ShinMegaTen I think but very highly recommend it for some consistent old-school RPG action. . .
