Lies! The best game of time is already present amongst us!
Deadly Premonition is a game full of hilariously awkward moments. This short clip is the perfect example of the type of humor that defines the cutscenes.

Arkham City, while nowhere near a bad or even mediocre game (it's quite good, in fact) didn't even come close to living up to its hype. It's about as good as Arkham Asylum, which was already a great game so that's not saying much. It was too big, too repetitive, and the story wasn't all that interesting, even for Batman.

I'm not saying it was a terrible game, obviously, it's just not one of the best games of all time. Maybe an 8.5 or a 9, but not a 10 like they've said.
HOLY FUCK! You've completely opened my eyes to the fact that people might have different opinions about what might be their best game of all time!

      MENTAL.

        • My DLC bug has gotten worse. I've had the game tell me twice more that the data was corrupt, only just to need to start it again for it to work fine... now every third time I load the game up it seems to fail to recognize the Catwoman DLC is there and ask me if I want to buy it. But then when I skip it and get to the menu, the DLC - Catwoman included - is loaded fine.

          • Finished it, 100%, finished day 2 aswell. Absolutely loved it, was everything I wanted, the two twists at the end were incredible, I never expected either to be honest. No complaints with anything.
Anybody else found the next easter egg yet??

Yeah, I keep getting the corruption message too; well, yesterday was the second time I got it, but I've only been playing the game for about three or four days. As long as it loads when I restart I'm fine. I have way too much of the Riddler stuff completed to want to start over. Last night I had my entire game freeze to the point of not even being able to access the PS dashboard. I had to hold the power button in to actually get my PS3 to do something.

It's funny how I'm having all these issues with the game, but yet games that give people a lot of problems work fine on my PS3. Final Fantasy XII was supposedly making a lot of PS3's crash and freeze, but I never had a problem with it. Not even once.

As for the game being too short, well I wouldn't know yet since I've only just gone to the Museum. Most of my time has been collecting the Riddler trophies, solving the riddles, and rescuing Riddler hostages. There is definitely a lot to do outside of the main story because I know I have been playing for more than six hours.

              • If you play straight through the story ignoring basically all of the side missions and quests etc. you probably would only get 6-10 hours out of it (depending on difficulty as well of course). I did that at first and that is about what I got, but then I've probably spend a further 20 hours on all of the side quests, riddler trophies, and random trophy/achievements and not even yet touched the Challenge Maps or NewGame+ mode. All I have left now is probably about an hour to get the remaining 30 catwoman riddler trophies I haven't yet grabbed.

                • Well, I guess that is more or less my point: If you ignore a lot of the side quests, then of course the game will be short. A lot of games face this conundrum. Example, if you ignored most of the side quests in Dead Rising 2, you would end up with a pitifully short game...But none-the-less, I can see the point. Why pay so much for a 6 hour story, and I agree.

                  • Stu - I wasn't arguing that you can't call this the best game ever (though obviously I highly disagree) just that if you're going to make a claim like that you could it at least back it up. I don't care if you do like Arkham City more than anything else, just saying that it seemed laughable to me to compare it to RE4, especially this early on.

Time will tell, I suppose, but I honestly can't see Arkham City having any real impact on any other games out there.

                            • If you visit Calender Man today (Halloween), he will tell you a short story about Joker. Then he will ask you to visit him on Thanksgiving. I'm guessing every major holiday has a little story. Pretty neat Easter egg!
