          Riddler in Arkham City

Destructoid.com give us an insight into The Riddler's role in Batman: Arkham City:

Our demo ended with Batman descending upon a rooftop as his Cyptogram device was picking up a strange signal. He stops in front of a large billboard, the words "Turn on and Tune in Before Someone Checks out - 275.00 325.00" crudely scrawled on its face. The Dark Knight jacks into that particular frequency and we're given our first glimpse at Arkham City's darker, twisted vision of Riddler.

While we didn't see any gameplay in action, the vignette we were shown was meant to give us "insight into The Riddler's state of mind." It's a super grimy minute worth of footage, with dark scenes of horror-like imagery, including a female struggling as she held down by a contraption that looks like something out of a SAW film. The Riddler's voice is the clip's soundtrack, taunting Batman the whole time.

How Riddler encounters and missions will play out is still very much an enigma itself; Ginn would only confirm that he'll be both physically threatening Batman and "the lives of innocent people." From the sounds of things, the critical narrative path will have you dealing with the likes of Two-Face and Joker. But Ginn was hesitant to call Riddler encounters "side missions."

"The Riddler experience is not part of the main story," he confirmed, "but you can see how much work we put into it. It seems to do them a disservice to call them 'side missions,' because we take them really, really seriously." - Destructoid

I'm curious to see how Two-Face is going to tie into the game, he's already been one of my favourite Batman villains. Yes, before I watched The Dark Knight. Also Scarecrow, those sections in Arkham Asylum were superb and I wouldn't mind seeing more of those in this game.
              See you in hell.

I'm hoping that with the addition of Catwoman there might be so coop options in the game? Though we have yet to see Robin. I wonder where he is? Joker mentioned him in the first game. I wonder if we may see him.

Also, love the new incarnation of Riddler. The character sounds like something Nolan would have created for his vision of the Riddler.

I'm super excited. And this comes out on my birthday too~

At one section of the new gameplay trailer you can see the monarch theatre (the one the waynes visited before they were shot) If you look on the side of the wall outside the theatre there is an advertising poster for "The Flying Graysons", with a cancelled sign over it.

it's probably just for the bio like in Arkham Asylum, but I wouldn't mind seeing Nightwing in the game

I was under the impression that someone already shot down co-op.

I am totally in support of that. Too much co-op and online multiplayer games these days. Just give me a good game with a good story. If I want to play online or with a friend, it will be Black Ops, Left 4 Dead, or something of that sort.

Yeah I'm pretty sure RockSteady released a statement saying that co op was not even happening, think they said something along the lines of - putting co op in would only enable them to produce an average game whereas concentrating on just a solo play game would let the produce an amazing game.

I agree to be honest, this is one game series where I wouldn't like to see co op in it, I quite enjoy the way batman is isolated during gameplay. Adding another character running around messing up the stealth would only complicate things

I agree it'd be totally detrimental to the atmosphere and everything we loved about the original it'd be like putting co-op in Resident Evil . . . oh shi-

But seriously initially I was keen on the idea of co-op but it just seems like it'd be tedious in the main campaign mode and the challenge mode. It could work in the style of Red Dead or GTA IV where you can just wander about or start up rescue missions, foiling robberies etc but when I think about it I figure screw it I'll just play Red Dead for that . . .

That is EXACTLY what I thought of when I first heard of multiplayer possibly being in this!

                              Nooooo!! Not Another Sheva!!! CHRISSS!!!

                              Besides the point.

The only and I mean Only way I would be ok with co-op/multiplayer would be if there were challenge maps for it like in Arkham Asylum. But we can do without it!

Yeah multiplayer on the challenge maps I could just about cope with but throwing it into the main gameplay would probably completely and utterly ruin it for me
