  • Loving the shield bash with Robin!

Was tempted to trade this in either Friday (towards Skyrim) or next Friday (Assassin's Creed) but then i started having fun with Robin and Nightwing's gadgets today haha

    • Wait, you thought this was one of the best games ever and you're going to trade it in? That's just weird, man. Maybe I'm just too attached to the things I like....well, that and the ridiculous rip-off amount of money you get in return doesn't sit well with me.

Then again, Skyrim does look appealing on occasion....

      • The trade in value is ridiculously good - Skyrim or Assassin's Creed will only be £2.99 if i trade AC in.

And yeah, much like i traded in Resident Evil 4 about a million times over the years really. It's not like i can't ever pick it up in the shops again when it comes down in price and there's a truckload more DLC out for it.

        • You must know a better store than Gamestop then. I'd be lucky to get half of what I paid for AC there, even with the bonus "deals" and such.

Of course, I've traded in games I really like before (and regret doing so). The amount of times I've traded in Knights of the Old Republic would boggle the mind, especially since now I have no way of getting again outside of online shopping.

I turned mine on about a week ago and got some bullshit message that my game was corrupt and that I would have to delete my game and start again so I just held my PS3 button, turned off my system, waited a second or two, turned it back on and it was fine.
I actually had to download something last night in order to play...Possibly a patch of some kind. Everytime prior I was getting the game is corrupted comment and having to restart, but last night it actually went through on the first attempt. I also noticed when I was having the problem that if I hit "X" at the main screen, I got the corruption screen; however, if I hit "START" it went through fine. Could have just been coincidence though.

One villian I have never really enjoyed much of in the Batman universe is Ra'Al-Ghul. He just has too much of a supernatural element that I don't see as fitting well into Batman. Meh.

            • one thing I never get despite finding the easter egg numerous time is Harley Quinn singing during the closing credits, all I ever get is the Joker singing 'only you'

Seems like Nolan's take on the Batman universe really toned down all the unnatural elements of the villains. Ras' is still a very intimidating character regardless.

                    • Okay, I have a question for someone who has finished all the Riddler riddles (or done at least these two):

No matter where I stand on the police department I cannot seem to get the "Look out! Can you see where the madness started?" which I know is the Arkham Asylum island. I always get "Subject Too Small" and it is really starting to piss me off; I even flew as far as Batman would go before turning around, scanned the island and STILL got "Subject Too Small." My question being what am I doing wrong here? I looked up a review and did what it said...Still nothing.

Another riddle I cannot seem to get, but know what it is is the "Was the writing on the wall from the moment you got here?" at the entrance to Arkham City. I know it is the mayor plaque, but this is like the other one, no matter where I stand, it doesn't register and always says "Subject Obscured" or "Subject Too Small." With this riddle I actually think my game glitched when I scanned it because I vaguely remember already doing it, and the game just threw it out as no longer existing.

These are my last two riddles, and I'm guessing I won't be able to get them because of game glitches. It seems like here lately any game that comes out has a lot of problems. Maybe I just started paying attention, but I really don't remember the initial years of PS3 games having this many problems. Good thing I really have no desire to Platinum this (namely because I just find those medal puzzle things way too boring) as I wouldn't be able to because of the damned glitches!

I liked the game overall; fairly decent story...Loved the atmosphere and vast variety of villians.

                      • Have you zoomed in on the Island? That might also be the problem with the other one but i'm not sure.

                        • What do you mean by zooming in? I didn't know you could do that in detective mode.

The mayor plaque I really do think is glitched in my game. I think the "Subject Too Small/Suject Obscured" is actually picking up the city tower riddle.

                          EDIT:
Just got both of my problem riddles. I really had no clue that you could zoom in detective mode. I had gotten all other riddles by just getting really close to them.

                          • Challenge Maps pack came out today. The Penguin and Joker maps that were pre-order exclusives - and a new Batcave predator map! Only 240pts which is pretty great!

Also there's a free Batman Inc skin available too!

                            • I beat the game yesterday, while an enjoyable game compared to the first game I found this a major disappointment.

It tries too hard, throws in so many villains that none ever stick about long enough to feel a threat or give you some strong purpose for doing what you need to, you spend way too much time just being a monkey and swing abour rooftops fetching things through the game. Story suffers horribly for it. Perhaps the seeking of a cure would have felt important if you could dick about in the city for as long as you wanted when you are meant to be on a short timer.

The open city environment kills any threat from the majority of enemies in the game, you only need to fly down to ground to fight them if you want to most of the game, otherwise no threat, if you do accidently get attacked by a few when do not want to...just zipline away or jump over a fence. Asylum made you take enemies down in trapped environments constantly so enemies felt a threat there. Also the riddler stuff was one of my fav things in Asylum, but in this is just gets annoying when every time you turn a corner there are two more riddles in your face, plus there are only so many variations of 'hit this with batarang' or 'shoot with electric gun' etc and they get repetitive and boring very quick.

I think Asylum is better in every way.
