Are the Skill Packs worth picking up? I'm torn between them and the previously pre-order-only-exclusive content for Red Dead (The War Horse/Gold Campaign Guns/Fast Dead-Eye-Regen outfit) . . .

DR2 Skills = They're only good if you've got lots of hours still to sink into the game or lots of Co-Op to play (keep in mind that anyone who co-ops has to patch their game also with the free co-op Skills patches off the PSN/XBL as well which allows co-op with people who have the skins - why this is I don't know, it was a pain in the ass at first until I realised). If you've already finished everything in DR2 then I'd suggest not getting them.

Off the record will feature a sandbox mode.
Players can explore the casinos, restaurants, malls and new Uranus Zone that comprise Fortune City without the obstacle of time. Challenges placed throughout the city offer players the chance to earn additional cash for use in the pawn shops and vending machines around Fortune City. Ranging from collection style challenges to vehicle-based challenges to zombie massacre challenges; the higher the rank of the player, the more cash they win.sigpic

I've noticed everything shown seems to be in the new area they've added, but honestly how big can it be? I get the feeling it'll be the size of one of the large casinos or maybe on slightly bigger, which still isn't big, the rest of the game just a copy and paste with new cutscenes.
I played DR2 to full completion, even did the 72k kills, this will be a rent for me.Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."

Aside from 72k kills and win in each TIR (since cannot pick events) I didn't have isues with the trophies. If you think ahead you can rescue every single survivor and do all story and zombrex events in one playthrough.Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."

Getting all Otis calls AND saving all survivors was fucking hardcore.

To me adding Case West as a bonus in this makes sense, because the original idea of this version of DR2 was supposed to be a Director's Cut which they then flipped into this alternate universe thing. But considering the link between both of these is West it would make sense. Not likely to happen though.

Pay to play online sucks, but there are some great titles on 360 that are worth getting a console. Dead Rising 1 was one of those games (it was my first 360 game if memory serves me well). But I buy anything (good) with zombies LOL.

I am NOT buying an XBOX, but have always been highly interested in the Case material.
I really have little interest in this "Off the Record" edition. I mean, I just really can't see it being that different than the original Dead Rising 2. I think this will be a "wait-until-it's-around-$20" purchase. Capcom and this constant releasing and rereleasing of the pretty much the same game is becoming extremely hackneyed. Though, the sandbox mode does sound interesting.sigpic
