Not surprising really. The fact they announced co-op with two Chuck's reeked of covering-up-a-returning-character-with-another-Chuck to be honest.

Still, would not really make sense. >_>

I just wonder, if Frank is gonna be your co-op partner, will the game have co-op specific variations of the cutscenes, will Frank be part of the single player campaign, or will Frank simply be absent from everything story related?

Capcom's been on a pretty nice roll lately with having flexible cutscenes, so I really think they'd be going the extra mile by going beyond what they already did with cutscenes in Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2 - should they add co-op specific stuff with Frank and Chuck.

You know I still think that the co-op is going to be 2 Chuck's, Frank's just going to be an NPC, maybe playable in an extra scenario or something, possibly an unlockable multiplayer skin or something.

^ Something simular to Lost Planet 2 you mean? Have a save for Dead Rising on your 360, or some other Capcom game on your PS3, you get Frank as a skin?

I don't like the idea of Frank returning in the story. It messes things up in my opinion.
Zombrex is only temporary, and if Frank did receive the prototype, then how did they find out it only lasted 12 hours without him turning into a zombie?
Even the ending of Dead Rising hints that he becomes a zombie, or at least semi-zombie.

I guess one way it could work is if the original zombrex was a permanent cure, but a corporation or government made it less effective so they could have a constant demand. They probably snuffed Isabella and took her work. The only problem with that would be the fact we now have an "Umbrella Corporation" in the Dead Rising Universe.

Preferably Frank is just "player 2" in co-op and has no effect on the story. Hopefully he is placed awkwardly into the cut scenes. That would be funny.

I don't think it would be that crazy... Frank is quite a popular character and "zombify" him off wouldn't help. Capcom has a weak spot for lead roles, Jill Valentine anyone?

I've scored tickets to the Australian launch party for DR2. It'll be held Wednesday night local time. Hopefully I'll have some nice photos and impressions of the game.

I attended the Dead Rising 2 launch event in Sydney last night. Probably saw Gene there, but wouldn't have recognized him. Twas a good night! The first Australian screening of Afterlife got plenty of laughs from the zombie-filled audience.

I scored tons of RE and DR2 merchandise. Posters, figures, a Zombie Combat Manual book, a backpack and even a promo copy of DR2. Being served free drinks by cute zombie girls wasn't bad either.

Ok for the console people who've already gotten this, how's the frame rate holding up ? I played a little of Case Zero and there were definitely some frame rate hitches in there when you had a lot of zombies on screen.

I was very late, I missed the cinema show, and it took me a while to find my way up to the venue.

I didn't get much free stuff, but I scabbed a couple of free posters, which went on to adorn some Sydney public toilets, in the interests of public safety (see pic).

You can see me in the pic. I imagine you were wearing your STARS jacket, and an Outbreak promo shirt
I was going to come up to you and introduce myself as a fellow RE fan, but kinda had so little time. Maybe next time I'm in Sydney

DR2 is getting solid if not great reviews. I'm still greatly looking forward to playing it next week, especially since I never got to play the first.

Those of you that already have it, please share your thoughts when you get the chance.
