Off the record is going to be a day one purchase for me, and it'll be on the PC platform. Should be interesting to see what happens at the end, because we all know it's going to be a "dream" or some sorts, with a little teaser to what to expect in Dead Rising 3, with this Director's what if cut.
I think Chuck is a psychopath in Off the Record, going by the launch trailer.
I think that's actually pretty cool, if true.
I know I said a few posts up that I had no interest in this, but after researching it a bit, I see this is actually going to be a new-ish game...And now, I really do want it. I loved Dead Rising 2, and actually wouldn't mind playing it again with these new features.
I really do hope Chuck is one of the psychopaths; I mean, it would make sense, both he and Frank are searching the complex for Zombrex, so I could definitely see them fighting over a few boxes.
I still want them to add Case West and Zero to this.
If you notice in the launch trailer, Chuck now has facial hair (a surefire sign of villainy if there ever was one), his hair is longer (it actually looks like he has a mullet now), and he's carrying a doll on his back looks suspiciously like his daughter.
My guess? His daughter has died, and not being able to handle it, he now believes that this doll is actually his daughter, and he will do whatever it takes to protect her/it. He may even still be searching for Zombrex, which could explain a possible confrontation with Frank, since Frank needs Zombrex for himself.
Bah! It's going to be another one of those motorcycle fights. I hated fighting the other TIR contestant due to him constantly running into me. The fight itself isn't overly difficult, but it takes time having to find crap to throw at him. I wonder if they will actually show Chuck going crazy; you know, complete with zombie Katey and all.

Agreed. This constant marketing ploy by Capcom to make a game and then roughly 3 months to a year later introducing a "Special Edition" of some kind is getting rather old. I was interested in the newer editions of Street Fighter IV, and even found one of them for less than $10, but didn't buy it out of principle. If all the special editions were like Resident Evil 5/Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, I wouldn't have a problem with it (By this I mean that it is available for download on the PSN/XBOX networks as well as disc version). Here lately though, Capcom is forcing you to purchase the disc release rather than giving the option to just download what is new.
Dead Rising is in a different league for me, so I will probably end up buying Off The Record, but aside from it, I tend to avoid Capcom's "Special Editions." I am also interested in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but at this moment in time, I have no desire to own it. If there is a PSN download availabe, I will consider getting that, but if it is only ever going to be disc-based then I think I shall pass.
Actually by special editions I mean stuff like this
Getting the Zelda with Gold Wiimote+ also since all the Wii ever gets used for the last couple years is Mario Kart and don't have Motion+.
But I agree with Capcoms crappy tactics, especially with fighters. I held off buying SSFIVAE until I found it for under a tenner, SFxTekken I think I'm just gonna let slide until a second version is out, unless again, find it for a tenner.
Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."
I didn't care much for DR1 at all/
Didn't buy DR2 - but played it on my brothers Xbox.
Considering getting this, but this looks like it's driven the price of the old edition down so I might just stick with that, especially as I don't care for Frank
Kinda wished they'd not even shown any of it in the trailer, it was a cool thing but ruined by showing it off. Would have been better left as a surprise.
