  • Eileen vs. Ashley

Eileen, the escort from Silent Hill 4, will be facing Ashley, the escort from Resident Evil 4.

In a Least Popular Character tournament.

I don't think I'm gonna vote but between the two, I think Eileen is worse. She's just so friggin' useless and she gets in the way. Ashley can be put in a dumpster if she gets in the way and she did uh.... Well she wasn't around for half the game like Eileen was. So that's something she did right.

Well considering I actually gave a shit about Eileen and feared for her safety at certain points she won this.

But ask yourself, which would you rather not hear, "HAAAAAALP! LEEEEAHHHN!" or "I'm Scawed?"

I'd rather not hear Leon help.

But at the same time, I'm scared isn't all Eileen said. She also said "Slow down *huff huff*" or something similar. Which meant I couldn't run away from the deadly hordes of monsters because I had to go back and ferry her one-armed ass to safety.

Ashley could actually keep up with Leon.

The only good thing about Eileen is abusing her to get her possessed. Watching her beat herself up is awesome.

I think both of them need to take a one way trip to the Sun.

        But I rather not hate...

Eileen at least tries to helpful. Ashley mostly tries to get kidnapped. Again.

At least Eileen, even though she was heavily injured, was able to protect herself. Ashley, on the other hand, couldn't even run away from enemies :/

Ashley could run away with you if you ran.

Eileen would actively run toward and try to fight Walter if he showed up. The guy never dies so it's pointless to fight him in the first place and just knocking him down takes a huge amount of damage. Yet she'll stand there, pitifully flailing away with her handbag at a guy with a chainsaw.

No, you don't score points for trying when you getting hurt effects my ending and you are constantly putting yourself in danger.

Oh and need I remind you all of the ending of the game?

Eileen: *rushes over to Henry who is in horrific agony* Henry, I gotta leave you. I'm going to the main villain. He's completely on the other side of the level but I think it's best I walk straight into his clutches. KTHXBAI.

Doing this was an act of "sheer, determined regardation" as Yahtzee would call it. She abandons the man who's heroically dragged her ass through six hellish worlds and gone straight to the main villain. Of her own free will.

Fuck that noise. Ashley is way better. She at least has two brain cells in her head.

...at what point does she show off these two brain cells? The part where she stand, screaming, as Leon fights off the hordes of Plagas that you don't really have much choice but to fight? Or the part where she runs off to be captured? Again.

Also, I'm pretty sure her mind is being more than a little influenced when she runs off. Because, you know, she does it and we have nothing to suggest she's mentally retarded. Yeah, her AI sucks. No doubt I'd love it if she got an upgrade to it. But then, I'm not sure if Ashley has AI at all. She doesn't fight when attacked. She doesn't run. She just stays near Leon and screams.

The part where she follows Leon and does pretty much everything he asks. Not to mention she can duck if you point a weapon at her.

And running forward a few feet because you're scared is much more forgivable than what Eileen did.

Oh and I forgot. Ashley can solve a little puzzle, retrieve items to find her way back to Leon and drive a bulldozer.
Did Eileen ever do any of those things?

Also, I'm pretty sure her mind is being more than a little influenced when she runs off. Because, you know, she does it and we have nothing to suggest she's mentally retarded.
Her mind is being influenced...if you let her get partly or fully possessed.
That's right. If you keep her healthy she runs off to the villain. It actually makes more sense to let her get abused.

She ducks if you point a gun at her. More than I can say for Eileen. She'd probably run into the bullets.

Yes, if you ran. If you don't, because, say, you are busy fighting off enemies, she will just stand there and do completely nothing, waiting for someone to pick her up :/.

As I said, Eileen can defend herself; if you don't want her to attack enemies, you can unequipped her any time and she will simply follow you. Ashley can't do shit on her own apart from screaming.

Yeah, because Ashley never run off on her own without a reason... Oh wait, she did.

Because she wanted to stop Walter. She felt sorry for the little boy, and knew that the only way to stop his misery was to stop the adult Walter.

Ashley ran a few feet in a fit of panic.

Eileen determinedly hobbled towards the man who almost murdered her because she was goign to "stop him." Mind you she has one arm now and he's alreadu pretty much killed her when she was perfectly healthy.

She's also seen him armed with chainsaws and guns up to this point.

Yeah, if I were to make a Stupidometer, Ashley's action would score a 3 or 4. Young girl, terrified and does something in a brief moment of fear.
Eileen's stupidity goes up to Eleven.
