  • More Fatal Frame on Wii!!!

This bombshell landed a couple of days ago!

It looks to be a remake or re-release of Fatal Frame 2, for the Wii. No details yet but judging by the screenshots, I'm thinking it's probably an enhanced port with an over the shoulder perspective, like the 'Mask of the Lunar Eclipse'.

I can't believe that after the clusterfuck of the previous FF game on Wii (which saw it go unreleased outside of Japan) that they would be making another exclusive Wii game.

I have mixed feelings about this game. Crimson Butterfly is my favorite game in the series and one of my favorite games of all time. I'd be happy with a HD re-release (like Ico and SOTC) but if they change too much I'll be pissed off. It's a special game to me and I don't want them to screw it up. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

Still, I'm incredibly happy that the series is alive!
I've no idea if they plan to release it worldwide this time (maybe they will now bring both Wii games to the west). But I'll be importing again anyway.

Sigh. Don't see a release outside of Japan then.

If it's that important to you, why not import and then patch it?

Yeah. It's not like the Riivolution patching system requires a modded Wii or anything ;D
              (Not joking)

Only "sad" thing is that it doesn't support HDD installs/loading. That's about it.

I was under the unstanding that the patching used didn't need a modded Wii?

                  (Not... joking...?)

Yeah. You don't need a modded Wii to run it. It's just a simple type of homebrew that can be launched through countless unpatchable exploits in the Wii's sysstem (and installed as a channel, if you want to avoid going through the exploit every time).

Pretty sweet thing. Doubles as an import loader for the games that have patches for it.

I like ghosts. They at least usually have a valid reason for not playing by the rules.
