I am kind of saddend that the cars dont look so great, I'm driving alot of Nissans at the moment and they are rather low rez, and the car buy screen is rather boring, I loved how it would show all the deatails in Prologue. Oh well small issues to me.

I do love how you can take amzing full HD photos of the replays, I taking heaps and making them wallpapers. Very nice touch.

I wouldn't say that Gran Turismo 5 is a bad product, just an incomplete product. But to be fair it would have taken them even longer to model the interiors of every single car in the game. The weather effects are of particular note as they look superb, with rain streaming down the windscreen or dust obscuring your view. However, I have noticed on some cars that the textures seem a little off - the FTO '94 for example, there's quite a bit of blurring and jaggies on the actual car model.

I would not say the game is as much of a technical achievement as GT4, as it still feels unfinished in areas but hopefully we'll get that remedied via future updates and patches. In addition, the menu screen for GT Mode looks a bit cluttered but I do like the social networking approach that they have taken.
        See you in hell.

Given the length of time they've had to work on this game, Polyphony Digital have disappointed me. It's good but below the standard of what I've come to expect from them in earlier years, I think GT5 is the "GT3" of the current gen. In much the same way that GT3 was the first GT to be released on a then next-gen console, and turned out to be not that great, I think the same will apply to GT5.

that's the dumbest thing anyone could want, especially for console gaming. would be easier to just install the full game period. and as for being an optional install. it ain't all that optional. because whether you choose to skip it for now, it'll come back do it anyways in segments.

its more about car collecting then actual enjoyment. GT1 and GT3 had the least amount of cars compared to GT2, GT4, GT PSP, and GT5, and because of that, they didn't suffer as much compared to the GT games that did have a lot of cars. more cars don't make a game better. there's literally no reason for 20-30 different mazdas, nissans, ect. hell, back then i didn't even realize GT4 was released the same year MGS3 did, because no one talked about it or anything and only a few people i knew had it.

Just noticed something about your post, you mention that it's more about car collecting yet you add that the reason why GT3 et al didn't suffer so much was because they had LESS cars? I thought if you wanted to collect cars, you would want more to collect?

                    Also, GT4 was great.

Edit: Just to point out, the installation for GT5 isn't "optional" as such since the loading times become unbearable without installing. Best to just leave it to install while you go work or something, then come back and it'll be done ready for you to play when you get home.

cause for some reason, every time there's a GT game with a massive amount of cars, something goes wrong with it or it lacks somewhere. GT2 had a bug that prevented 100% completion in certain version of the game. GT4 was, i believe the first dual-layer PS2 game that caused a bunch of DREs, and yeah. whether its not a quality issue, its some kind game issue.

I rather liked GT4 to be honest, I thought it was an overall more polished game than GT3: A-Spec.

GT4 was my favorite up to this point. I see no problem with it other than no damage scale, which really isn't even a big deal.
