I'm intrigued yet wary of this, the last time they tried to do a gritty reboot of the franchise it damn nearly killed it and even if that game happens to be a personal favorite of mine i just don't see it coming back if it should fail on such epic proportions again.

At first I was like "What failed gritty reboot?" and then I had to think about it.

I just like to pretend Dark Angel never ever happened.

AOD wasn't a reboot, it just caused a reboot.

I don't see why they cannot reboot the series without wiping out the Tomb Raider story yet again.

Make it a new IP for F's sake.

It was a reboot really, just the term "reboot" wasn't around back then. Ah better times....

This is pretty interesting read. I have alot of faith in Crystal Dynamics. I'm honestly more excited for this than UC3. CD's really seem to be putting a ton of effort into this game.

Hey I feel the same LOL Uncharted story is great but I can't play through it more than once because the actual gameplay to get to the cutscenes are repetitive "shoot amateur climbing shoot puzzle with obvious answer in journal" I love Uncharted but TR games to me bring a better actual gameplay experience in their campaigns

Wow. never played a Tomb Raider game before, but reading all this, with the horror element, has got me really excited. What if it puts RE to shame...

It's not going to be RE type of horror LOL

I think Tomb Raider will be one of the biggest games of 2012. It's got everything going for it, and Eidos has been on a roll thanks to Square's resources and support for their IPs (God Bless Ian Livingstone). I can see this having the same wow factor for a genre that I had with Resident Evil 4.

Yes. Edge comfirmed this I believe (and other sites cite 2012). Wait for E3 if you want a further official confirmination.

So this game looks to be pushing the M rating right? Not a problem at all with me, I just hope it doesn't go so far over the top that it's goofy.
