Except in France... Spoiler:
you see evidence of the spiders twice before you even open up the events later. Firstly when Drake falls underground there are some of them around obviously, because they bite you. Then later when you get into the square tower one of the suited henchmen is on the ground dead, but it looks like he died a long time ago - but it's supposed to be a hint about the spiders attack (at least I figure that because there is no other reason given). The Guardians were different because they made sense under the context of hiding the city and they only turned up in the areas around Nepal. These spiders turn up in several locations and sometimes prior to you seemingly doing something to unleash them. So I agree with KylieDog that these are a bit of a plothole, cause they seemed that way to me when I was playing too.

One thing that really struck me as odd was Sully's little "These guys are playing for keeps" speech to Nate. I'm pretty sure everyone they've faced up to this point were "playing for keeps." Why were these guys different? I never really understood why they treated Marlowe like she was a greater threat than Lazarevic or Navarro. And this was before they found out about the Spoiler:
Was it just because they had history with Marlowe? Was that supposed to be it? It just seemed really strange to me.weird mind control water.

I totally forgot about that, but you're right.
Now, as for when Spoiler:
Cutter shot Talbin (or whatever his name was), I'm assuming he just hallucinated it? Nate, Sully, and Chloe never comment on it, and Nate later hallucinates Sully getting shot, but that still doesn't explain how Talbin was able to magically disappear all those times, either.Last edited by Archelon; 11-09-2011, 11:03 AM.

Writer of Uncharted, Amy something mentioned on twitter that Talbot was wearing a bulletproof vest when Cutter shot him, ironically he doesn't wear it when Drake and Sully shoot him at the end.sigpic

I think this game uses a more ambiguous story than usual for Uncharted, which would normally be fine, but I do feel that Hennig relies too heavily on it.
Spoiler:
Also yes, they do comment on Cutter shooting Talbot. Once you start running, Cutter's says "Why'd you throw away your guns?!" and Nate is like "You could've given us a wink or something!" This doesn't necessarily prove that he shot Talbot, but I do think it points to it.
Now what I really did like most of all regarding ambiguity was, near the end,
Spoiler:
how the urn is never specified to have a Djinn in it. Sure there are myths but it's never actually spelled out and displayed for everyone to see like the Spanish sailing crew or the Himalayan tribe living in Shambhala. I really thought that was a nice change of pace, never actually knowing what was in the urn as opposed to gunning down Spanish spider-zombies and Himalayan superhumans with explosive balls and chains.
For what it's worth though, especially knowing the series, I think there was definitely a Djinn in there.Last edited by Canas Renvall; 11-09-2011, 02:53 PM.

Spoiler:
Check out Drake's diary, Talbot is explained there as Magician of the cult and he is really good ín free run, so that's explain how he always disappear. Also bulletproof vest is pretty obvious (there is no blood when Cutter shot Talbot).
Canas:
Spoiler:
I'm not sure it's Djinn inside, but something supernatural for sure. Everyone had same hallucinations after drinking water in Ubar as Salim explained to Drake - They all saw smoke less fire demons. As far as I'm aware this can't do any hallucinogen known to people.Last edited by Dark_Chris; 11-09-2011, 03:06 PM.Spoiler:

After playing this a second time (to rack up trophies, all I lack is a crushing playthrough now), I actually think it might be better than Among Thieves and Drake's Fortune, both of which I played again shortly before (on the same difficulty) to get a feel for them all in rapid succession. It still has some problems (the strange stickiness/unresponsiveness of the aiming on occasion), but overall I think Naughty Dog outdid themselves cinematically.
A small thing that irks me though: what in the world happened to Chloe's face? Elena looks a little different too, but close enough to her original model. Chloe's is just off-the-wall weird, and, for some reason, almost oriental.A man chooses...a slave obeys.

On top of that, Spoiler:he's wearing a bulletproof vest.
the entire society that he and Marlowe belong to thrive on deception and fear (their main reason for trying to get the urn from Iram of the Pillars in the first place). The tarot cards in Cutter's journal are used to describe Marlowe and Talbot as the High Priestess and Magician, respectively. Talbot, also confirmed by Hennig, uses the same sort of tricks that the CIA/MI6 would use to pull off the "magician" style he uses throughout the game.

he was still wearing his vest. Notice how many times Nate had to shoot him before he actually fell. Again, notice that he's still alive when he's falling, too, screaming and flailing as he heads for his death. Not to mention I never saw blood shooting him I don't think. I'd have to play through again and make sure. But yeah, I think he was still wearing it. He just got shot so many times it finally did something to him.Last edited by Canas Renvall; 11-09-2011, 07:45 PM.

Platinumed the game about 4-5 days ago. Was fairly simple. Dont recall struggling to much. In all honesty I found the game more difficult on my first playthrough on normal than I did on crushing. Still love the game dont think the story is as good as the other two though. Ending was abit strange to not really leaving any doors open but not closing any either. Still though havent played a game this year that comes anywhere near it.
