Spoiler:
It's not the indoctrination, sadly, what I was hoping for. The stupid starchild remains. However, for the shitty setup we got? It is...okay. It smooths over a few things, like why the hell Joker ran away. It shows your crew alright, and the effects of the world after, even if it is just pictures and audio. It is bland, but anything is better than the first ending we got. It cleans up a few pieces in a massive trasheap. There's still more I think may be coming, someone(the same person who predicted/found the LotSB) thinks there is another DLC in the future, called Reunion. It would be fitting considering how the EC ends with at least everyone else okay. Oh, it's also worth it to do the 'Refusal' ending once and shoot that stupid starchild in his face.

So I chose destroy again, like I did the first time.
Spoiler:
Definitely much better. I like how we were actually able to question the Star Child this time, for further explanation. He's just an AI, like I originally thought, and not some deity. That made me feel a lot better. Everything just seems a lot clearer now. The whole scene with my love interest(Liara) placing Shepard's name on the memorial in the Normandy was awesome, but then, I still got Shepard taking a breath in the rubble at the end. This is not the end of ME3.
Now that all this ending crap is over and done with, they can start pushing out real DLC. Hopefully something post-ending. I need further clarification of Shepard being alive. He's obviously not done. I also LOVE how the mass relays are now just 'severely damaged' and not destroyed. That opens the door for more Mass Effect. Once the relays are gone, it's all over. But Hackett was very clear that everything could be rebuilt.
I wish there were more scenes, but I was very happy to see the quarians rebuilding, and Wrex and Eve with their baby krogan. That's all I wanted. For the choices I made to have some kind of impact. And it did.
EDIT:
Spoiler:
Now that I think about it, she didn't put the plaque up on the memorial like it happens in the other endings that I'm watching on Youtube. In my ending she just held it. That's interesting.Last edited by Vector; 06-26-2012, 03:13 PM.

No. All of that is cleared up in a few extra scenes.

I'm pretty happy with it. The one gripe I really have is that the Catalyst Kid should and could have been replaced by Harbinger. Harbinger was sorely lacking in this game, especially given he was the 'face' of the Reapers in two. Heck, he might be the oldest Reaper around, if I recall correctly. It would have been much more fun and interesting to talk to him over the Starchild bullshit we got.
The ending has a fair bit of variation now. Mass Effect 1 is pretty much who did you kill and did you save the Council, 2 is mostly who survived the Suicide Mission and did you nuke the Collector Base? It would have been nice if the was assets were more important, at least showing the Reapers having a harder time/more ground forces for Hammer arriving if you'd been more successful. Maybe causing damage/death on board Normandy if you didn't bring enough folks to the fight.
Some stuff was wrapped up in game. Most of the rest was wrapped up in the ending. The only thing I can really see being outstanding, as such, in my game was the Rachni. I suppose they're now RoboBugs like everything else (Holy Shit, cyber Thresher Maws...) but it would have been nice to have a mention.
EDIT: Alexdz, the Squad mates you take are fine.Last edited by Darkmoon; 06-26-2012, 03:15 PM.

It could just be me, but in the Refusal ending, for a moment the kid sounds like Harbinger I think? I believe the implication is that it IS him you're talking to, disguised, but then that makes little sense too.

I have to give credit where credit is due here. This was awesome. The ending(s) are so much better and the game feels complete now - Bravo Bioware! Thank you!
One thing I tried and LOL'd at, just messing around, didn't think it'd actually work because it didn't before.. but you can now actually shoot starchild in the face! Be Warned though, this WILL screw up your ending!sigpic

Went through all four endings with my current save.
Synthesis is really nice, so is refusal (although that one's shorter than even the original variations of the endings), destroy and control are okay enough too.
I kinda wish that since they went out of their way to sorta "show/narrate" the epilogue stuff, that they'd do ME1 intro-text scroll-ish descriptions for the outcome of certain things, but I guess they'll roll with what they did in the original ending (leaving things somewhat open). I don't mind.
Nice DLC; though. Pretty sweet that they did it for free too. Now... bring me that mission DLC!

Here's the 4th new ending w/ annotations to the other 3 (DLC-improved) endings. (Spoiler Alert!!)
Spoiler:
@Inferno04 Spoiler:
It could have been an attempt to add some anti-climatic drama & went lazy on the voice changing by using an old recorded voice clip of the Harbringer saying "So be it!"
Overall, I think the endings are so much better than the originals...but I still think, the endings that we got were still somewhat lackluster.
It could have been better if it was actually rewritten completely.
There are still some questions to be answered which were raised up in the 'Indoctrination Theory' video, but it's something at least....
I can say I'm much happier now with how the Trilogy concluded.
If I have to pick my favorite ending. It would have to be the 'Synthesize' ending, it's the best & deepest emotional ending of the 4 endings with the greatest definition of 'Self-Sacrifice for the better of the many'. If there's no more games after this, I think the 'Synthesize' ending would fit best as the canon ending.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Funny comments I read on youtube on the 'Control' & 'Rejection' endings.
Spoiler:
- (Control ending) -
Shepard: hey harbinger
Harbinger:What?
Shepard: ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL BITCH
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Harbinger is being made to rebuild a relay*
Shepard: Harbinger, quit slacking. Those relays aren't going to rebuild themselves.
Harbinger: This hurts me!
Shepard: Don't make me come over there and assume direct control.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- (Rejection ending) -
WHAT KIND OF ASSHOLE WOULD PICK THIS ENDING? I..I mean this is worse than stopping the Genophage cure...
Hackett: "Shepard...we're waiting, where's the colored explosions."
Shepard: "Well, I uh...I had a chance to Control, Destroy, or Synthesize with the Reapers...but, I"M JUST SO MAD AT BIOWARE...I won't chose any, I'd rather die."
Hackett and the rest of the Galaxy "....Just fucking chose one!!!"
Shepard: "No, I'll die free of EA's control"
Garrus: "I better not see you in Turian Heaven!"
