Everything is funnier than Dane Cook. Except for Dane Cook, he should just trade places with Greg Giraldo so that a good comedian could live again.

Geoff Keighley--until today, I thought he seemed like a pretty cool cat. But man. . .what a fucking douchebag of douchebags.

You saw that too!? Yeah, talk about how gaming isn't for gamers anymore. How can he not know shit about games or the audience, treat interviewers so badly, and somehow have power? I love it when Joe lost his cool.

Actually, that will go to 11-11-11.

The Elder Scrolls was the most exciting announcement for me. The show was pretty bad otherwise (mostly the humor) except for the other announcements. That's all that really comes out of this ceremony that's worthwhile.

Yeah. What surprised me is on News4Gamers in the comment box, a sad number of people were actually siding with Geoff Keighly, acting like Joe had been disrespectful and outright rude from the beginning, which is complete and total bullshit. OR the fact people were pointing out he has no right to criticize the awards when Joe himself, an amateur video game reviewer, doesn't have any ps3 or pc reviews, which is silly to criticizes from a guy who makes video reviews as a hobby and not his job. AS someone pointed out, it's not like he gets advanced review copies or free consoles. Anyone who's actually watched Angry Joe knows he's the furthest thing from a fanboy.

Real shitty what happened to poor Joe in the end.

Yeah, unfortunately the situation made Joe flub a little. He could've gotten in: Final Fantasy XIV, it came out two months ago! Still, Keighley's a dick, I'll just echo a comment of Joe's "WHO. GIVES. A FUCK. ABOUT DANE COOK?!"

Yeah, he could have, but that's just more proof that Joe was so totally trying to be polite and respectful of Keighley--not some ragging immature fanboy. I'm sure while Joe KNEW it had come out, he was probably just taken aback by Keighley's statement, and just kinda took it. I know that's how I would have reacted.

Exactly Mr. Spencer. Yes, you are a deviously cunning one, indeed. Who IS Dane Cook? I do not know this Dane Cook, nor heard of him before. Is he from an alternate universe where giant crabs have taken over the Earth?

yep. my hands go towards that game more than anything now for 2011 pretty much screw everything else that i see except for maybe Batman: AC and Dead Space 2. even if that game was half the size of Cyrodiil, it would sadly still be the largest game the year would have to offer. probably even larger than L.A. Noire, that is, unless we find out how big Dues Ex: Human Evolution is or Zelda: Skyward Sword (which looks to disappoint as soon as it was revealed).

I never liked Geoff Keighley. He is so biased against the Wii it's ridiculous. In an RE5 interview, he made it a point to ask the developers like four or five times if the game was possible on the Wii, to which they replied "no". In a MadWorld interview, he was asking the developers "Why the Wii? You know it's just for little kids, right?" When they said that they felt the innovation it brought to the table was something they really wanted to work with, he just was like "Whatever... MadWorld on Wii!" Or was it No More Heroes? I can never remember.

Either way, I reeeeally do not enjoy his presence.

Didn't he do that documentary that came bundled with PAL copies of MGS2?

No, that was FunTV on the DVD. Same as Silent Hill 2 which came out earlier. But he did do a project for GameSpot who he was working for at the time on the final hours, which he did for a lot of games. It's still online, as their entire history through all several owners back to 1997 or 1996 can basically be found online still. The formatting is all screwed with, but here is the link:

GameSpot is the world's largest source for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PS Vita, Wii PC, 3DS, PSP, DS, video game news, reviews, previews, trailers, walkthroughs, and more.

Aside from one comment on his twitter feed, he's ignored any comments about this. Hopefully someone will question him properly about the public reaction to the quality of the programming and in turn the responce and video posted by Angry Joe, but it's going to take someone he possibly respects to actually be able do it like one of the people on Kotaku or the like.

Back when I used to do more work online, I had discussions online with a number of people working in the critical VG industry, and most of them - especially 90's and early 2000's - are arrogant cocks. Keighley's one, Jeff Gerstmann's another. Both via Gamespot. Most of the old staff on IGN I've had e-mail arguments with when they've tried throwing their weight around because I was the webmaster of a fan site too.

In fact the only one I can think of I never had any issues with was Mark Macdonald, but that might be because I never directly talked to him, only through someone via the old EvilGaming Network or on a delayed responce via a forum. CVXfreak is now working with him at his translation company in Japan, and between that and his appearances on various podcasts it doesn't sound like he's any different than he used to be, which is good. Probably why he got out of the critics/magazine/web industry.
