'Better' or 'worse' is a matter of opinion. For me, I couldn't give a shit about 3D display or the second screen, and I can't stand using a stylus, so the 3DS really doesn't interest me in those regards. On the flip side, if the PSP2 has the oft-rumored second analog stick, that almost sells it for me. The only issue is the price.

Really? A second analogue stick is what will make someone by a new PSP? I'm half being sarcastic and half serious, i've only played a PSP a few times but found the lack of a second analogue stick to be....actually it didn't even occur to me at the time there wasn't one.

I've never been that keen on handhelds to begin with. I play games when there's nothing to do, but when there is something to do I don't want to stand around playing games, it's pretty anti-social when you're talking to someone and all they're doing is arsing around on their phone playing some flash game. If you're in the comfort of your own home, you might as well get a console that will grant you a much better gaming experience.
There's also very few games that interest me on the current handhelds out there. The DS has got Hotel Dusk, the PSP has Peace Walker, and that's about it. I can't justify shelling out another hundred quid or so just to play a couple of games.See you in hell.

I have a Peace Walker PSP-3000. I like it. I have a few games for it and it isn't too bad. Still play my DSi XL a lot more though, don't think I've even touched my PSP in months.
And honestly, between this and the 3DS, there's no contest. Sorry, Nintendo gets my money over this any day of the week. Nintendo is all about innovation, Sony's still catching up.
Rumble Controls: Nintendo (N64 Rumble Pak)
Memory Cards: Nintendo (the N64 Memory Pak)
Motion Controls: Nintendo
Touchscreen handheld: Nintendo
Now they're doing a 3D handheld. Expect a PSP2-000 with 3D capabilities soon.
Not to dis Sony, I love my PS3. But the only thing they did before Nintendo was HD graphics and Netflix. Which works better on the 360 anyway.
Aside from Nintendo not doing any of those things first, like that even matters anyway it is beyond stupid saying things like "between this and the 3DS, there's no contest" when NOTHING has been announced.
What happens if Sony show off PSP2 and it has 3d, dual analogues and is cheaper than 3DS, plus has a great selection of games announced? Still no contest?Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."

And if it does, that just proves how much they leech off Nintendo. Nintendo announces 3D on a handheld, Sony announces 3D on a handheld.
And I am willing to bet money that it won't actually have 3D. And I don't give two shits about two analogues. As for the games, great, but I still already know I prefer the 3DS's library. Zelda, Kid Icarus, RE, MGS, Star Fox, Kingdom Hearts... yeah, I'm good with the 3DS. I can't say PSP2 is high on my list.

^ Ignoring the fact that Sony was the first to jump into the 3D pool with 3D-compatible games on the PS3...wouldn't that count as Nintendo leaching off of Sony?
Everyone 'borrows' ideas from everyone else. Nintendo is no less guilty than anyone else.

In my experience, most people complaining about the controls not having two analogs are usually those that started out with the dual-shock with the PS1/PS2 and have yet to play with anything else.
Since I started out with the old digital pads, the 1 analog thing is a non-issue.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.

But like I said, you get used to controlling without the second analog stick on the PSP, but many games would be much better with one. Peace Walker is one of my favorite games, but controlling the camera and aiming with an analog stick would feel much better than using L and R and the face buttons. The lack of a second stick is probably my biggest complaint with the PSP's design.
