Also, christ. Are we even thinking of the same TimeShift? Because this is radically different than what we actually got. What happened to Dennis Quaid and Michael Ironside? And those awesome cutscenes?

Some genius who thought steam punk wouldn't sell happened (this was before BioShock came out and everyone had to team spunk on anything steam punk)

Never played this game, but you've got me interested. So, neither Ironside or Quaid are in the finished product? Dennis seemed genuinely excited to be doing it

Ironside's character remains the villain in the final version too, but his presence and amount of dialog was severely cut.

His character was more or less background in the final product, you never really knew anything about him except that he was just some guy you had to go back in time to stop. I had no idea about the involvement of Quaid and Ironside, so to see all this knowing what the end result was, it's genuinely saddening.

TimeShift - a pissed away opportunity.
