Former celebrity Gilbert Gottfried unwittingly revealed Grand Theft Auto V's existence via Twitter last night, saying "just found out I'm voicing the lead in grand theft auto 5! also I hate japan lol." (editor's note: his message was taken down as of press time)
Gottfried was in the spotlight last week when he made some controversial comments about the current Japanese crisis, which resulted in him getting fired from the not-embarassing job as the Aflac duck. Now, just days later, he reveals that he is portraying the lead character in the next installment of the best-selling franchise.
A source told The Noble Eskimo that Grand Theft Auto V will present a more serious, gritty tone than previous titles and that the game's producers were very impressed by the depth of Gottfried's portrayal of the character Iago in Disney's Aladdin.
