What amuses me is the people going to the Playstation blog and pretty much demanding they get free shit in return. Online play is free already...and its not like people don't already have games to play. It's like going to your cable provider and telling them that because they had an outage, you demand channels that you didn't have before for free. People seriously need to grow up and just learn to deal with shit, and should simply be happy with what they have.sigpic

Well I lost my internet service the night before PSN went down so it's not really bothering me at all. However, if something like this were to happen, say, the week Operation Raccoon City releases....Let the rage begin. For non PS+ members, it's free so we can't be all that angry, (like XBOX users always say, you get what you pay for), but of course, it still sucks ass."One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars."

I fail to see why PSN+ members should get compensation, I am a member and currently the only thing I am missing out on is online play, automatic patching/demo downloads (which I turned off anyway) and the online save back-ups which I haven't used either. Even if I used all of them this hardly qualifies for compensation and free PSN users are also missing the online play/patching/demos.
Any PSN+ exclusive content lasts a month at a time so unless this drags on until June I miss nothing.
If anything I am more bothered that I cannot use my PS3 to stream movies from Lovefilm since I need to be signed into PSN, that is something I actively use and pay for and that I am missing out on, but honestly its a few days I cannot use it for, I don't give a monkeys.Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."

I agree with Darkmoon. I don't recall ever receiving compensation when XBL/WoW/my internet has been down, and they are services I pay for. I think they are damn cheeky expecting compensation for a service which is mostly free. Things go down sometimes, get over it. Or alternatively buy a 360.

Whilst the way people go about their need for some sort of compensation is very much fucked, the idea that just because it's a free service is no reason whatsoever for Sony to dismiss the issue.
What about the people who are locked out of their games because of the need for a network connection? Those who a week or so back purchased SOCOM (Sony's latest great white hope) for the online experience? Those who picked up Portal 2 this week ahead of the 360 because of superior online connectivity such as cross-platform play? The people paying subscriptions for whichever movie streaming platform the PS3 is carrying? Or even those who have paid up for the PS+ subscriptions before now?
Doesn't bother me in the slightest, but to say because it's free people should keep quiet is completely missing the point.

When XBL was down one Christmas they offered Undertow for free as a thank you for people's patience.
People should be more concerned about their accounts, not their games. I think it would suck more to have my account hacked, with any psn funds stolen or my data corrupeted rather than me being unable to play online for a weekend. If I didn't have finals and a research project coming up on Monday, I'd certainly use this downtime to play some of the games offline that I've had backlogged for a while.
Like I said...its the people demanding Sony give something in return that's annoying. Microsoft users do pay (well most, probably) for online services, hence why giving something away seems a bit more reasonable.sigpic

Just got back for my g/f's been there since Wednesday. I tried to sign in earlier tonight and saw the online is down. I wanted to play some MK online and get my dose of COD zombies. Cant say I'm that bothered though gives me a chance to play some offline games and wipe the dust off my 360. Even then I played Alan Wake. Will be glad to see it back but cant say Im exactly biting my nails in anticipation. As for the people demanding compensation :-/ Wtf? It's a free service what exactly are they asking for? Guess this means the pasty teens will have to go outside in the sunlight, lets just hope they dont evaporate into dust.

Anonymous releases video denying claim to PSN downtime.
PSX-Sense writes: 'Anonymous just released a video which is meant for the PSN-users. Many people say it is Anonymous who is responsible for the downtime, but Anonymous denies. They say in a video that it is an internal problem in the servers of Sony. '
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Oh my god, seriously? These losers need to get a life. Some people are taking video game console hacking a little too seriously.

It's like Sony slaughtered their families and raped their daughters or something. Good for a laugh, anyways.Last edited by valentinesdead?; 04-24-2011, 12:23 AM.sigpic

The videos get lamer with each release saw one earlier saying (pretty much) "We are standing up for you PSN users, were are not attacking PSN servers because you do not like it, oh but anonymous isn't one mind so we actually are trying to attack PSN but we do not approve, love us please!". Now this one saying the huge amounts of hate they get and being to butt of many jokes is aiding them. Hilarious if not so sad.
So anyone got SSFIV, RE5 or L4D2 on 360?Last edited by Dracarys; 04-24-2011, 12:35 AM.Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."

Another update:
We sincerely regret that PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have been suspended, and we are working around the clock to bring them both back online. Our efforts to resolve this matter involve re-building our system to further strengthen our network infrastructure. Though this task is time-consuming, we decided it was worth the time necessary to provide the system with additional security.
We thank you for your patience to date and ask for a little more while we move towards completion of this project. We will continue to give you updates as they become available.See you in hell.
