Suddenly, I feel all warm inside.

On topic- MW3 is going to be garbage with the longetivity of an average sexual intercourse. But it's going to look cool so that everyone will rush to get that awesome collector's edition.
It will undoubtedly sell, as the general CoD audience is completely unaware that every other game in the series is made by a different developer. Not only that but it also seems with each new installment, CoD fanboys spread the false-hype and infect others. It's like a damn zombie virus outbreak. It's also the same reason why WoW is so damn successful, word of mouth. The only difference is that WoW is actually a good game.

MW3 has nothing at all going for it. It's made by a shitty developer, Bobby "KoDick" is making money off of it and not to mention the entire CoD series is terrible to begin with. The only thing this game has going for it is the branding and marketing. Even gaming websites like IGN are responsible for spreading the false-hype. Don't blame the people for buying it, they just don't know any better.

Must be different here then, we had about thirty copies of the Prestige Edition for Black Ops and the vast majority of them were pre-orders. Those that were left over sold out real quickly.
      See you in hell.

Maybe it is my area. After Halo: Reach came out all the legendary editions that were never bought went on sale for a huge cut. But I live in a smaller town, so maybe less gamers willing to pay that amount for huge collectors editions.

The Duke Nukem: Balls of Steel Edition looks like one of the greatest collector's editions of all time. Comes with so much shit... but makes me wonder if everything included isn't cheaply made in a Vietnamese sweatshop.

Not my fault that shit is synonymous with red necks, as well as the xbox 360's entire marketing campaign.

This does not apply to COD's developed by IW before MW2. MW is a masterpiece. Whether you like the game personally or not, is not important. It's one of the last FPS games which specifically cater to both the competitive players, and the public players.

100% with you on the hype factor. MW2 playercount on Steam had major drops with the release of a new AAA title which was carried by enough hype. It's daily peak is at 10% of what it used to be. And the game is not that old. In comparison, games carried by quality lose their momentum over a much longer period. And predictably, MW2 is now at the 9th position when minutes are counted, and all the other Steam veterans have reclaimed their place. Funnily, Black Ops shares the same fate.

Never heard this association. Modt rednecks would rather drink beer.

See, CoD4 was probably the only game in that series I enjoyed. MW2 was a complete mess which made no sense from a narrative standpoint. I suspect that the CoD 'bubble' will burst at some point, if it hasn't already. Sales of Black Ops were pretty strong and I believe that MW3 will sell like wildfire simply because of the label. That's what you're buying at the end of the day, not a game but a brand.

                              I'll stick with Valve.
                              See you in hell.

MW and the first CoD on PC are the only exception. However, I question as to why you played a console-based shooter like MW on PC. I'm assuming that you're talking specifically about multiplayer. The singleplayer in MW was shit in terms of the scenarios it presented and the AI would pour out of buildings like clown cars until you crossed an invisible tripwire. You would kill a guy then go behind cover, only to come out of cover and see the same exact fool shooting at you from the same exact spot. At that time games like F.E.A.R. were out and made that type of shooter look like a game of whack-a-mole.

While MW multiplayer was fun it was only because of the introduction of the leveling system, which was new at the time. Still, there were other multiplayer shooters I would much rather play when it came out, even Halo.
