  • New Grasshopper game with zombies

It's called "Lollipop Chainsaw" (I'm serious).

Seems to remind me of The OneChanbara games, as this one seems to have a busty high school girl running around with a chainsaw plastered with cutesy stickers and crap on it.

The title seems to be bit of a pun on "Lolita" considering the main character is a high school cheerleader called Juliet within her school called San Romero High School, the zombies start to show up.

She can do acrobatic moves and the zombies' bleed a glittering pink blood (could be due to censorship of gore and the like in Japan lately or just pure stylization).

Images were shown in Famitsu and it's also been confirmed that Akira Yamaoka will be working on the game.

    Andriasang details

Kotaku article with Famitsu article scan

Seems interesting, as it also somewhat reminds me of Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge in that it's a high school girl running around with a chainsaw and nobody really seems to give a shit. *Shrugs*

I can't believe we're already getting another GHM game already!

Good to see Akira Yamaoka finally going on to better things after the pointlessness of SH2/3.

            My thoughts exactly!

It looks like it'd be an interesting game to play though.

Pretty sure that was the Kinect game.

No real indication this isn't Kinect/Move compatible (or exclusive) game. It wouldn't surprise me if Codename D evolved into this since no actual game-play was shown from it and nothings been said of it since.

No, no, no, Codename D is the Kinect-focused (as in, developed exclusively for Kinect) title where we play as a dangerous baseball pitcher taking down freaks in a circus fair.

                    Interview with Suda.

The sound team for Lollipop is led by Yamaoka and they're working on a whole array of pop tunes right now. Part of the gameplay might involve sound as well, although exactly how we're still keeping a secret.

No release date was given for Lollipop Chainsaw, which (according to Yasuda) already has an overseas publisher committed to releasing the game in English, although he didn't reveal who. "The game's framework is complete, and now we're deep into the fine-tuning process," Suda said. "I'd place it at around 70 percent complete. It's really a new era for zombie games -- a piece of 'pop' zombie entertainment."

Looks like Dead Rising, which isn't bad.

This looks pretty sweet. What are the odds of it coming west?

The article said an unnamed publisher is hell-bent on bringing it to the west.

Some more screens, a piece of concept art and the rendered art shown in Famitsu.
