Would that be the system update I just received?

From what I understand, the NES games will be available September 1st, and the GBA games' release is TBD.

I'm also getting a Vita. I almost wonder if this'll make Sony drop the non-3G version to 200.

In this topic, people misinterpret what I wrote...again.

All I meant was that an overpriced machine (and don't kid yourself, that much for a handheld is extreme, even with improvements over the DS) combined with a miserable launch line-up easily sets the stage for this price drop.

Have the sales been especially slow? I know the Wii's price didn't drop for a dog's age over here, and for the first...six months? Probably somewhat more. You could not buy the Wii off the shelf unless you fluked out. It was outta stock everywhere. Places even made it mandatory to buy two games so you could buy the damned thing. I don't recall the Wii's starting line up being that awesome, either...

Considering the Wii came bundled with Wii Sports, had Legend of Zelda day-and-date with it, and was something most gamers hadn't really seen before, I don't think it's a stretch to say that they're two different situations. I don't think the 3DS even had a remarkable title until OOT3D and Mercenaries. I know all I've ever seen in stores before them was Super Street Fighter IV, and fighting games aren't exactly what Nintendo fans (or even most gamers in general, to be honest) flock to.

Yep, 3DS does not have a 'system seller' title and will not for a long while. The best games it has out right now, SSFIV, Zelda and Mercs are all rehashes in one form or another and certainly not worth the price of a 3DS. I was expecting Revelations to be out this year, then Capcom delayed it, bastards.

Yeah because the PSP value pack that was $250 and came with a stupid movie preview UMD and cleaning cloth was worth it.

I've always hated the double standard in the console wars, Nintendo charges an extra $25 or $50 on a console and they get bitched out for it, but Sony can charge one thousand fucking dollars for a PS3, and people still kill each other for one at launch...Not to mention people selling PS3's for thousands and thousands of dollars on Ebay at launch.

I blame lack of common sense, I really do.

It's the only arguement I need. I've never been into Uncharted but I imagine that Golden Abyss will nonetheless be a key selling point for the handheld, everything else seemed very uninteresting.

Bingo. "Loyalty" only goes so far. I think it's common sense nowadays to wait a few months or a year for a price drop when all the inevitable kinks are worked out and there is a bigger library of games. I haven't bought a console at launch since...well...ever, I don't think.

Sony sold the PS3 for so much and were still taking a loss on hardware sales. Nintendo just decided they wanted more money so bumped the price up. That is the difference. It was $600 for PS3, not 1000.

I didn't know I could be misinterpreted twice in one thread (or, in this case, have someone outright fabricate something I was supposed to have said). I don't know where you got "lollol Nintendoz is the suxorz and Sony roxorz" out of what I said.

FYI, I own practically every system worth having there is apart from an original XBOX, the PSP, 3DS, and a myriad of lesser consoles like the Jaguar and Commodore64, so it doesn't really work to throw the fanboy card at me. If I was ever a fanboy of anything, it was SEGA during the genesis days.

he was right about the killing thing though. i used to live near putnam CT and a guy got shot fro a ps3. i was in new haven and didn't even get heckled by the scalpers at the wii launch once, hell they even held my spot as i had to go not once but 4 times to the gas station down the road to use the bathroom.in all honesty i understand that spencer will fight for the vita cause he loves sony, i will fight for the 3DS cause lets face it i love nintendo. we love what we love. does that mean we hate each others guts? nope. its just friendly competition

                                Again, with the "loyalty" thing.

Did people not read the part where we get 10 free games from the NES era that others will get to pay for? Or that we get them before paying customers? Or the part where we get ten more GBA games that, as of now, will not be released to the general public? (Now don't call me naive, of course they'll be released in the future ) Nintendo has never done something like that before for its loyal fanbase.
