This is my second-favorite FF game ever, and I'm very excited by the prospect of playing it on the go on the PS Vita. To answer your question as to WHY it's selected...where have you seen a PS1/SNES HD re-release in this new trend? You haven't. They're all PS2/Xbox games. Also, FF7, 8 and 9 are all on the PlayStation store. And the FF1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 all got recent re-releases on the Gameboy Advance and PSP.

The 10th anniversary of FF10 is coming up, too. It's not rocket science.

its cool if FF7 wasn't for everyone, i liked it but if you didn its fine...but ANYONE who like FFX is fucking insane!

the characters are dull, the story if focused on a whiny little shithead instead of on the sheltered girl who has to change her destiny, the voice acting is terrible and i fucking hate tidus!!! I WANT HIM TO DIE PAINFULLY!!! DAETH TO THE HERETIC! DEATH TO THE HERETIC!!!

I love FFX, but I can understand why people dislike it. One thing though, I think we can all agree on is Auron. He is the f*cking man.

Idea for new Final Fantasy, featuring Sam Fisher. It is ten minutes long.

He is the first (and last) boss.
                See you in hell.

I love how they completely disregard anyone who wants a FF7 remake. lol.
Favourite here is 6, out of the 3D's it'd have to be 9. I like X. </3 Gonna get this since my PS2 copy is broke and I am too lazy to lookup another, and it'll give me a reason to replay it.

They're not disregarding anything. It's an HD re-release, not a full-fledged remake. I don't think they should touch any of the old games as far as 're-making' them goes. Also, FF7 is about as overrated a video game as you can find on this earth. Sorry.

as before you have an opinion about it i respect. personally i would enjoy a rerelease of FF6 on at least the PS vita and 3ds. personally i would enjoy the opera in 3d with a full orchestra and vocal track since hearing it in both english and japanese. for those who think FF7 needs a remake i think it does as well but not in the huge ass scale as many other games. a redone CG model release as a episodical game is fine in my case.

Couldn't agree more. :') I just found it humorous.
I bet the blogs and websites won't be happy with this. ~
                        Was just saying. :p

I bought EarthWorm Jim HD, it kicks ass. I can't really think of any other ones though...too much repair time for PS1 games I guess, it's much easier to smooth the textures in PS2 games and brighten the pixels/sprites in 32 bit games where you can just redraw animations to make them look better lol.

I guess Square-Enix needs to keep the FF7 remake back for when they run out of money. Still, 10 wasn't a bad game...but if it's just the typical, 'Slightly shinier with an HD sticker on it' then, as ever, I won't be getting it.

The Final Fantasy IV DS remake is about as faithful as you can get to the original game (if quite a bit harder, from what I hear), with updated graphics to match 32-bit quality.

Video game remakes are a different beast from film ones, the medium doesn't have as many constraints. Plus, they tend to be as faithful as possible.

As for Final Fantasy X, Spoony's review summed it up nicely. The game was fun, but the characters were just insufferable.
