Battlefield 3 Beta

So, as everyone knows(or if you didn't), the Battlefield 3 beta hits tommrow--5 AM Xbox Live Update, and at noon on PSN. Despite the gap, the question is--are you ready for fuckin' deployment soldiers!

The version I'm manning is PS3--and I'm wondering if anyone is interested in joining up for some mayhem around 8-9PM (Centeral, Eastern) with my core squad members. The idea is to assemble more than a 4 squad unit, but use Skype so there's there can be a clear channel of communication at all times, work like a team, etc. Not that everyone has to have skype even, but as long someone from each group has it--team efficiently, and thus, total domination, can be achieved.


Okay, joking aside, I'm just throwing this out there. Can't wait for later today!

Um, yeah--it went up this tuesday for the MOH purchasers(man, I'd feel pretty screwed having bought the game for an simple two days head-start), but yeah, it's going live for EVERYYYYYYYOOOOOOONNNNNEEEEEEEE!!! Lol.

I'm gonna download it and try it out, but I'm really not expecting much...it seems like it'll be a lot like BFBC2 which I had fun with for a few weeks but then I got very bored with it.

Also, I've seen people play it and I feel like the map they picked is not indicative of what the final product will be, i.e. people camping vehicle spawns and having to run half a mile from your own spawn to interact with any enemies, and dealing with bushwookies trying to be Sammy Sniper on the outskirts of the map. I feel like they picked a close-quarters map on purpose.

With a shit-ton of AAA games coming out this fall/winter, this game isn't anywhere near my radar.

I think the key to having fun in battlefield(or at least to me) is having people to play it with. If you don't, it doesn't really work too well as a One Man Army type of game. I hardly can stand to play by myself(which is why if I did play by myself in BC2, I stuck to Squad Rush) because most people are retards to begin with, who want to camp or hide far away in the buses and snipe or whatever, or stick to one class and one class only--or rarely go after the objective.

Yeah, the level that picked seemed to me their just trying to convince the call of duty crowd that you can have the same experience in our game too! Kinda disappointed we don't get a test map with vehicles, but oh well.

Still going to be a fucking blast before it's all said and done.

I had a blast last night playing the BF3 beta on my PC. Everything set to ultra max at 1080p and I'm getting full 60 FPS outside on Metro/Caspian. I fell in love when proning as a scout like the good ol' days. Battlefield's back, woo!

It is out on UK PS store now, 800MB/1173MB downloaded.

I'm going into town in a minute but otherwise gonna be on and off it all day long once I am back.

Oh, and gun damage is like in CoD so expect mass campers.

How bad is the lag/bugs on your end?

I've encountered some very strange bugs, but only during when I've just been killed and spectacting while I'm waiting to respawn. As for latency issues, experianced no problems on my end (can always go to manual server search and find the nearest host server). Got to say that Caspian is damn huge, and same for Metro (this is PC version, I believe consoles have it more smaller?) so having a blast in the beta, even with many matches already played.

Why is there no player mute function? Annoying the hell out of me jumping in and out of games because are people ith mics making a noise like they're trying to suck an arsehole.

Can't you open the player list during ingame and mute that way? Normally that's what most FPS do on consoles.
