  • E.X. Troopers - Lost Planet

Capcom's icy franchise finds its first spin-off. Check out this first trailer for the upcoming PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS shooter.Head over to IGN for mo...

This trailer reminded me of a simpler time. A happier time.

When Capcom made games for the sake of making games and weren't trying to create the next big Hollywood blockbuster with every title they released. When they didn't alienate their own distinctive identity just to appeal to Western audiences, and instead created quirky, bright, colorful adventures with an elegant simplicity that has all but been lost.

(It's also probably all that remains of Mega Man Legends 3, so there's that, too.)

    Kinda depressing isn't it?

But as long as someone is making these games there is hope... even with a company like Capcom.

I think the last time a Capcom game elicited a similar wave of nostalgia was when I played Zak&Wiki.

If it gets a 360 port too, I'll double-dip, but so far I'll only jump in on the 3DS version.

My Lost Planet whorage knows no bounds. Also; screw the Lost Planet 2 haters - one of the best and most content packed action games of the generation.

So the setting has you goin' all (EX) NEVEC?

If this game comes out in the West, they might be a 360 version. But if it stays in Japan... NOPE.

If anything, I get a sort of Burning Rangers / Virtua On vibe from that trailer. If this EX Troopers game stemmed from Mega Man Legends 3, I down with it.

At least, something would have come from MML3. =/

I like the artstyle and cel shaded graphics

If the gameplay is good then perhaps I'll dip.

To be honest, I suddenly got a strange amount of renewed hope for Lost Planet 3 after reading a lengthy article on it in the latest issue of Swedish gaming magazine LEVEL (which to date is still the greatest game magazine on earth)

I thought LP2 had some great design ideas bt the gameplay was off at a base level, things like movement just felt completely wrong, like were not conncted with the level around you.

                      New Trailer

Apparently the director of RE5 is making this one.

Looks oddly appealing. A bit bummed about the lack of a 360 version, though (Since they're doing a console port). Feels strange and off seeing the Xbox excluded, what with it being the home to plenty of exclusive treatment to the franchise.

There's a good chance this game won't leave Japan, hence the lack of a 360 version. I hope I'm wrong.

Well! At least I can always use it as an excuse to play a game on my PS3! Haven't actually had that happen in recent day and age.

No Xbox version just screams "I'm not leaving Japan".
